I like keeping stainless zip ties and gorilla tape around.

Everyone asks and you won't believe it!

99 Cents store about 8 years ago. I bought all four that were left that day. Then took them to a ghetto fan mart to have them embroidered. Every time I go back into a 99 cents store I look for them again. They have held up great! never one issue with the zippers either, best 99 cents I ever spent. HA!

Klein sells a similar bag, and they think a lot of them! I would be happy with something I found at the dollar store!

I keep an air compressor as well as a tire plug kit in the back of mine all the time. I've used the air compressor to fill up quite a few random strangers tires over the years. It still works just fine, but I would like to upgrade to a Puma so I can try to remote mount the tank. The plug kit, knock on wood, has only been used once to plug my wife's tire when she picked up a nail.

I'm thinking about picking up this tool kit to leave in the truck. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F4AVRGW/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2EPYC72ICJY2A&colid=153Z5I0O830O5&psc=0 Seems like it would cover a lot of bases. If I am hitting the trails or camping then I obviously add more, most of which others have already mentioned, but that is what I carry all the time.

Thanks everyone! I found that Sears sells a craftsman 151 piece kit thats all metric. Doesn't come with a case though.

Craftsman ratchets have gone downhill in quality over the last 20 years. I'm rebuilding my tool collection and I'm going with Gearwrench ratchets and most likely Harbor Freight sockets (in addition to the small Craftsman kit I already have).

A friend of mine swore by the Kobalt brand and I did like the feel of the ratchet he brought in for comparison. In tight spaces this is where its most important to have good tools, and it becomes obvious when that next tooth you really need to get the fastener out is impossible to attain! Craftsman's teeth are just too imprecise and far apart when compared to just about anything else out there at the moment. The military had a deal with Snap-On and we used their stuff, it wasn't bad, but I don't feel like it is worth what it costs. Then there's the problem of chasing down the truck when you need something.

I had a decent personal collection of MAC tools until someone decided they needed it to trade for some meth. I got some Craftsman tools as a replacement, but they are slowly being replaced since I have a growing hatred for Craftsman after owning it for a while now. Everyone, including my grandfather, used to go on about how it was awesome stuff. Now its scarcely better than something you would get at Harbor Freight, maybe even inferior in some instances.

Some of the HF stuff is shockingly good for the price and I agree that some of the HF ratchets seem to be better than modern Craftsman stuff. I generally don't buy anything Craftsman anymore. Gearwrench 120XP ratchets are my favorite so far, but to be fair I haven't sprung for SnapOn/etc.

I ordered a full mechanic kit in metric off of the amazon germany site. Surprise! My prime membership got me free shipping of a full german metric kit to the US!

...seriously? I'm going to have to check that out -- Amazon.co.uk has some awesome bluray deals but I don't recall Prime shipping being a thing.

Blu-ray may be tricky cross the pond due to content licensing
