I picked up a set of these projector lights and will get a writeup on them this weekend. So far, they look very cool in the box ;)

Anyone have a picture of the rectangular ones on their 62? I'm trying to picture these on mine

That's gonna be sweet.

dapper lighting are those 4x6 low beam only HID lights a dual light. as the stock truck goes the lows go bright when the brights come on so all 4 lights are on at the same time. does this happen with these HIDs as well or are they low beam (single beam only)? thanks for all this info in this thread. looks like a promising upgrade.

We're still working out the kinks on the 5.75" and 4x6" lights. The plug and play harnesses are still being developed. The ultimate goal would be to produce them with a harness that allows all four to be on at once. Right now you would have to wire it yourself to get it to work. Otherwise they will just shutoff when you pull high beams.

I'll let everyone know when it becomes available. I would hold off on the 5.75/4x6" lights until those harnesses are ready unless you are feeling guinea piggish and have some wiring ability.

thanks for the quick reply. I guess my question was partially answered but I was only partially clear in m asking. does the low beam light itself work as a single beam. right now the low beams switch to a high beam (typical H4 bulb) as well as the second high beam (H1) coming on. will the low beam HID stay the same pattern and intensity or will it change as well?

would a conversion like this work on my 24v HJ60?

what would i have to change?

The low beam is just a single beam. There isn't a high/low mechanism built into it. The beam pattern will stay the same when you go high beam. I actually have a wiring harness that will allow all 4 headlights to come on when you pull the high beams. We are looking for someone to test that out. The same harness should work with the HIDs as well. http://www.dapperlighting.com/collections/accessories/products/dapper-lighting-h4-relay-kit

Currently the setup doesn't work with a 24V system. You would have to rig up a setup with a 24/12V converter. I'll have to think about this one a bit.

Sweet, I'll be watching this. Please go step by step, take lots of pics....and use small words...I want to be able to follow. :)

I only use small words, mostly 4 letter ones. You'll be fine ;)

"What are you doing Hal" keeps coming to mind :D

would like to play a game of chess....?

The only winning move is not to play...

Well I have eventually got around to fitting the FX-R 3.0 projectors and Apollo 3.0 shrouds to my HJ60. This entailed 2 days work to fit them.
I had previously fitted a HID conversion kit to my standard semi-sealed units.
This improved the light output a great deal, but the low beam had a lot of light scatter and no distinct cut off.
I got a set of crystal light units with clear lenses. I used a heat gun to soften the adhesive and removed the glass lenses.
I then cut away the plastic reflector until the projector just sat clear of the inside of the glass lens.
I had to shorten the shroud so it fitted over the projector inside the housing.
Next I attached the projector to the housing with epoxy putty and refitted the lens using the heat gun and the original adhesive.
Fitting assembly to the car involved removing a lot of metal from behind the light area and the battery trays. I even had to space out the attach points with washers to clear the front side of the batteries. (See the attached pics.)
I am very pleased with the outcome. Great light and a sharp cut off on low beam. 100_1652.webp 100_1651.webp 100_1648.webp 100_1660.webp 100_1647.webp
