Factory shroud, Spal fan link below. The controller is also from Spal, but is not made anymore. I have been buying them as they come up on ebay and Craigslist but I included a link to them as well.

I like the SPAL fans.... those 16 inch versions move some air (the high perf ones).

Be careful on the older spal fan controller...I had one for a while and it lasted for a few months and one day the smoke escaped and it would have had a meltdown had I not been there to disconnect the wiring. (We were testing it for operational control as we never could get it dependable as to turn on and turn off temp).

You may know but SPAL has a new fan controller out (but I'm not sure what fans that it supports) vs. amp draw.

SPAL is the best fan out there in my view on the aftermarket side.

Nice setup on the fan shroud integration....very cool.

You have to get better glasses....3/8" rubber on all 4 pads.

I should have known

While we're talking fans: Do you have experience with Ford fans? Buddy ran one in his V8 Bronco that came out of a 2006 Crown Vic taxi; he swore by it.

don't know how they compare to spal since i'm just a poor child and can't afford them fancy fans, but i loved the taurus fan in my 40...never did use high, the low speed cooled enough. got one sitting in the back of the pickle to go in it when the time comes. watch for people that are asking a fortune for them tho...don't spend more than $40.

Same experience here except that mine did start a fire in my engine bay while I wasn't around. Luckily I got back to it quickly before major damage but I did have to fix the collateral damage. When I bought a new controller I did not buy another Spal.

With my new controller I've have zero issues with my contour fans.

I have ran both the 18" Crown Vic Fan and the double contour fans. They are very high CFM and are relatively cheap from a wrecking yard. The down side is the huge current draw.

I have bought new set of contour fans off eBay for $118 plus the ride. On my 40 I have each on its own circuit but controlled with one switch because it would blow a 30amp fuse.

have you tried a 40a breaker or megafuse? that solved my problem with my taurus fan

I have a 30 amp mega fuse that came with my flex-a-lite controller kit and both fans have been working well for me. No problems to speak of.

Tough crowd. Got the brake lines done....what a bitch. Working on the fuel lines now and finishing up the fan wiring. Got a cool fan insert made and powder coated that allows use of the big Spal fan recessed into the 62 shroud. I will get pics posted up when I get a chance. Did buy a RZR, but cant stop working on the 62.

sorry if I missed this but what is the reason for running new brake and fuel lines?

The 80 series factory stuff is a mess with ABS and all. I completely removed all traces of ABS and ran a stainless line to the rear and one to the front. Simple and huge amounts of breaking power. Same as the 45. The fuel lines were probably not necessary, but the factory 62 series lines were old and crappy looking and didnt really fit like I wanted.

Not sure what you decided on wheels... I did TRD's powder coated grey metallic with satin black ring .. Running without the center caps

Whoever is watching Gary this week, can you please have him update this thread? Thank you!

Waiting on the fuel tank to be made. Changed my mind on trying to make a cradle for the 62 tank, so a custom tank was ordered, stock rear frame rails were cut off and custom ones fabbed for the new tank. Tires and wheels are in, both axles are torn down for rebuilds with 4.88s and ARBs, flares are done, wiring pretty much done, etc. It should be done by Xmas. Took a quick shot of the wheel choice although they are not in their finished state. They are being sent off to be beadlocked/powdercoated after Xmas. Truck is sitting on the lift about 4" higher than ride height.
