Nice work!

We just supercharged one of these engines in a 06 100, and adding intercooler to it next week.

Without intercooler it made just over twice the torque for the first 1000 rpm, running 5 psi, exhaust, jet hot coated headers, enlarged factory cat flanges, and tunable device piggy backed.

Intercooler should see it go to 250 rw hp, and 7 psi, as well as more torque.

Economy has improved by aprox 1.5-2 lt per 100km so far also.

Makes for a very nice off road unit, with all the extra torque down low.

nice.

the late 90's 4.7 in the 100 series shares the same auto as the 80 series right? so the 4.7 is a bolt on then and the rest of the drivetrain stays untouched?

The 4.7 will not bolt up to the 80 series tranny. You have to use the 100 series tranny to bolt up to the 80 tcase. The wiring is the tricky part.

The 5 speed auto would be the unit of choice to use for the conversion, rather than the 4 speed anyway, IMHO.

Then the puter, loom, motor and auto could be used from the donor?

Although I agree that it would be the tranny of choice, the wiring I am talking about is the seamless integration into the 80 series harness. I could not find a reasonable price for a Landcruiser 5 sp. or I would be giving it a try. I don't think the wiring would ultimately be any more difficult for the 4 or 5 sp as long as you have the correct engine/tranny harness.

The tansmissions are not the same. They are 343s but the mounting is different.

Do you mean the cross member mounting or the bellhousing?

Primarily bell housing.

Dunno.

Thats a sweet setup, nice power gains also.

Edit, thats a water to air unit?, if so that is one compact koool unit.

Could be a sweet upgrade for the 45.

Yawsa, I thought maybe 5K, 10K ouch.

Its just the cost that become the hurdle. That thing is like 10k complete. If the 1FZ was adequate, the 2UZ should be awesome.

not when coverted to U.S currency.

there are some kits that could be around the 6k U.S plus shipping.

The 2uz inst much more of a performer than the 1fz really in standard trim, its the 5 sp auto that allows it to feel better.

I wanted the 5 sp, but could not find a donor that new.
Got the 1Fz, tranny and tcase pulled today. The 2UZ is waiting on a torque converter rebuild and then will be put back between the frame rails. Once is where I want it, Joe will fab up some mounts and we are on the down hill side. Pics tomorrow.
