Damn Jon, I have to agree with Shawn that you are in bad shape if you are sharing your bed with DA'40!'s hood and bib.

Actually, I sleep with the EFI badge under my pillow. And what's wrong with sharing my bed with car parts. It is, after all, the other woman. Right?

And automobiles are far less complicated and confusing than women.

Jon, has me beat

At least he has his parts in a bedroom. Very nice to see walking through the front door and seeing seats, springs and few other things that sould be in the garage.

There are two more projects I can think of.

My buddy James (different James) has a FJ60 project. He is going to install a 6.2L diesel/ NV4500 combo. I think Jack in Santa Fe will be posting on 'Mud before he does though:o

And Dan S. has another diesel project. 3B/H55 for his pops 40.

David's Troopies.
Skipper's 40 (maybe 2 ? )
Larry's 40, the Aussie, the 45, and 55. Probably others by now.
Dan's "other" green 80

I think the only real projects Larry has are the 45 and the 55.

That's true. I nearly forgot about it!

I'll have to start a build thread when I get myself the time off to do it. Hopefully this fall. It will probably come before my HJ-45, but time will tell.

What word? I certainly agree with Marc. My 4R is a lot less temperamental.

better get one fast. import rules changed 7/1 and if they are enforced it is basically impossible to legally import a diesel engine. The only loophole I see is a complete diesel vehicle at least 21 years old with the *original* engine. I'm watching to see if this is the end of Marv's "front halfs".

You can add my HJ-45 to that list. It's very much in full on project stage.

How about a 1HD-T into an 80? Ali??? Have you bought one yet? You should have.

I actually forced myself not to go to Owens Export when I was in LA two weeks ago, because Steve was trying to get me to check out his 1HD-T powered trucks (and talk me into using that instead of the H in the HJ).

I'm home with the new one, now to decide which to keep. The tan v8 rig is nicer, do I swap the camper to it or enjoy the 20 mpg with the gutless n/a diesel?

Here in ABQ, diesel is almost $1.00/gal more than regular. It used to be about $.20/gal less than regular a couple of years ago.

Those are too cool. Swap the tops and sell the diesel. I think it would go quick.

Wicked cool indeed!

Is the diesel a 47 or a 45?

I'd personally keep the diesel (gutless as it may be), but I'm krazy like that. ;)

I'm curious as to what the new deal will mean for importation too. I am pretty sure that there are a good number of these engines lurking around, but they are already pricey, and I can only see them getting more expensive. Time to write my congresspeople: I've got to thank them for saving me from driving awesome vehicles, after all.

That is awsome David. That would definitely be one of the rarest machines at CM09.

It's more than just the top...

Wow. I think I'm in love.

That's perhaps the coolest thing I've ever seen this week.

Please tell me it might make it to the Ellena Gallegos cookout....
