Maroon, just like yours. Body colour flares tho.....At least the ones that are left.....

No forced feed as of yet but it is only March.......

C'm on, cough the goods up.......

Would love to see some pics of yours, or Landtanks flexed up, with the front working, without those CC bushes fitted, so we can see the difference between CC and what ever you guys recommend.

I have no way of accurately measuring or even comparing the two as I'm the only one local with Slee's 4" springs. Realistically I'd need to swap between the two on my truck to be sure we were seeing just the difference in the bushings. My thoughts on the restriction was based on your past posts along with Slee and others who have seen bracket fatigue and bushing failure with off road use. It's been considered here that the OEM bushings are better at flexing and are more durable and that was really the basis of my question.

I think it was FJBen who did an extensive eval on the front end components as far as what and how much the different pieces effected flex but I think it was all with stock bushings.

If your interested I think I still have my CAD drawings that show what I've called axle shift from pressing CC bushings in the traditional 1 up 1 down pattern. I might be able to colorize them to make them easier to view and they might be worth a look. I'm away on business and it wouldn't be until this weekend that I could post them.

Cruiser Dan, if its not to much trouble, are you able to get me part No's for the body colored flare rubber section that fills the gap between the flare, and the steel panels?

I was thinking of color coding th flares, and was wondering how easy it would be to find the part No for these rubbers.

As soon as I know parts are shipping, i will let you know, see what we can get for you at the right price for :princess:"princess rooby":princess:

can we just enjoy his build thread without constructively criticising every thing about it? Please!

Yeah Rick, I did a bunch of testing to get that front end to flex more. The "ONLY" way I could get it to max out an "L" shock was with the front pin pulled. With that pin pulled I could get MUCH more flex with a longer shock as well.

I"m not criticizing at all, I'm extremely interested in knowing how it was done. This is the kind of tech I love, so keep it up!

Thank you muchly,

we call them gaurds here normally, but given its a US list here, I try to use common words, and convert everything to inches, gallons, and mph, while trying not to get seeds of my bagel, or starbucks in the keyboard ....

Im with you

Now Im hoping they can start thier own vehicle pic /cc/axle centre line/ whats a good extreme tyre pressure thread, save them posting them all here.

Hopefully we can just ignore them now, see if they go away.

The message still gets through ok on "tyres" vs "tires" I think ;)

One of the ways the articulation can be improved in the front is this Dobbin x link below, one link centre holding the diff in place, and not sure how it drives on road as yet, but is part of the creative thought process, along with the bottom pic, to see what we can come up with.

and another design that is working on patrols by putting more leverage over the bushes to flex,

Just some flex food for thought, while I get it registered today, and can get on with some work, and updates.

I've seen the x-link...it's a big of an ugly contraption but looks like it works.

The other link is very interesting...I'd like to see some results on that :D

OK, I'm hooked....I want everything on that truck, but can you make 40's fit? When you get all this stuff figured out, and if you think you could get 40's to work I would buy it all in a second!!

It will be interesting to see those choices in action. I think it's going to take some thing like that or a 3 link for you to realize the potential of the shock and spring design.

The X-link looks God awful expensive though.

yea it does. There has to be a less bulky way to achieve that?

The X link looks like it will work ok, and at $650 Aus, I wouldnt say it was very dear at all, but, as you have asked, thats why we are working on it, and if we can make the droop work, because I dont mind driving fast in the desert, so lots of up travel to control the landing has to be good, without the car tripping over a wheel on steep downhills, as well as make it articulate, without all the bulk of an x link, then we will be getting some where.

But we are starting at the start, with the shock length that works, coil that works, rate that works, and we will keep mixing it up, as we go, report what we find, and push onto the next mod ;)
