Sent you an e-mail reply, but it bounced.I got up an hour and a half ago and started typing a project list. Here's what I have so far [off the top of my head]:
Work Party ‘To Do’ List
010-Engine Electrical-clean holes in frame for battery tray mount, ground strap for starter,
brake line junction
030-[a] Engine-[a] remove 3 speed bell housing.
Transfer rear motor mount brackets to new bellhousing
pull oil pan, inspect bearings and oil pump, clean pan gasket surfaces, replace pan.
[c] Clean all other mounting surfaces and accessories:
Oil cooler
Fuel pump
Thermostat Housing
Water Pump housing
Intake and Exhaust
[d] Replace rear main seal
Replace pilot bearing
032-mounting-replace driver’s side front motor mount
040-Cooling-need to clean and paint radiator core support,
chase holes for radiator mount,
make sure radiator and fan shroud line up with core support
050-Intake exhaust-test fit header and new intake manifold, clearance intake manifold as needed to clear header flange.
Install collector
Install tailpipe
Cut and weld transition pipe from collector to exhaust
070-Clutch-replace bell housing with 4 speed.
Take pivot ball from old bell housing, clean and reinstall
Clean fork and throwout bearing
Clean and repaint Clutch master cylinder
Install Clutch hydraulics on firewall
Clean flywheel
Install flywheel
Install disc and pressure plate
080-Transmission-need to determine clearance issues with 4 speed in the LV body. This is an unknown factor. May require an enlarged hole in the trans tunnel and a raised cover or oversized boot.
090-Transfer case-vacuum shifter needs to be cleaned and reinstalled on new transfer housing
Shifter rod needs to be lengthened 3.5 inches
100-rear axle-disc brake calipers need to be installed,
lug studs need to be chased clean and
wheels test fitted for clearance issues
Brake lines and junctions installed
110- front axle-calipers mounted
Lines run
Lug studs chased
Wheels test fitted
120-Steering-all bolts on steering box, center arm and castle nuts on tie rod ends need to be double checked after the new axle is installed
130-Suspension-remove and replace the rear springs between the two Lvs, then remove and replace the front springs. ONLY ONE AXLE IS TO BE WORKED ON AT A TIME. This is a HIGH safety issue. Use old tires and floor jacks as backups for the frame stands
Replace bushings as needed
Clean and repaint areas of the frame that are exposed during this time [to whatever standards Gene feels are appropriate for the time frame we have]
140-Brakes-bolt firewall adapter, booster and master to firewall. Adjust booster pushrod endplay.
Select a spot on the firewall [confer with Mark and Gene] for proportioning valve
Install axle drop tabs on frame, front and rear [so you know where to plumb hard lines to]
Run rear brake line from master cylinder to proportioning valve, valve to frame junction, junction to rear axle drop [with residual check valve installed in between]
Do NOT bleed brakes until AFTER engine is installed and clearances have been determined between transmission and tunnel cover, and between carburetor and brake master cylinder.
145- Parking brake-needs to be pulled from old transfer case and disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with new shoes [may require grinding]
150- Body-broken bolts need to be drilled out of frame rails for fender mounts [8mm x 1.25].
151- Hood hinge plates in cowl need to be chased [6mmx1.0]
154-trans tunnel needs to be welded, but not before test fitted with 4 speed trans.
[a] Test drill holes inboard of seat frame to check distance from framerails. Determine appropriate location to add angle iron to seat frame, add angle iron to frame rails, and put body mount cushions between the two.
appropriate location needs to be selected and implemented for installation of front seat belts. Gene has an idea for this.
[c] Clean and prep sections of floorboard supports [sub floor] to weld in angle iron spanners between the two to support a new floor. Once appropriate sections have been identified, cleaned and new angle iron welded, sheet can be cut for new floor.
[d]Gas tank to be reinstalled at any point after the rear axle is installed.
[e]Cowl vent to be reassembled after wiring harness installed.
[e]Parking brake lever and hanger subassembly to be reinstalled after wiring harness.
[f]Wiper motors “ “ “ “ “ “
160-Electrical-Gene, HJDan and Wasabi to transfer wiring harness over to new LV, Art and Dan to check wiring of all circuits.

Rob, we don't need the 6 bolts behind the flywheel that hold the bellhousing to the block. We need the 4 bolts that hold the TRANSMISSION [4 speed} to the bellhousing. Those should be easy to get to....if you have them.
Ok Sorry I thought you ment the bolts that hold the bellhousing to the Block, I will get out there and go thr all my bolt boxes I really think I save some But this motor still, has the manifold nuts and washers so We have that covered

I don't know if I have any of those 12mmx1.25 the correct length.

I just when in the garage to check a bucket of motor mounts hoping I might have throw the bolts in there from one I pulled apart in the mid nineties. before I even started I noticed in my pile of bell housings that one of the four speed bell housings had the bolts in it. So I have a set of transmission bolts I will bring.

Edit I guess Rob and I must think a like. The best best to keep them from getting lost was to keep them in the bell housing. I bring my along two.

Man, I am stoked to watch what gets done this weekend. I wish I could be there. I hope that those that are there will know how many more of us are watching and enjoying the selfless acts of giving being demonstrated.
And if all the projects dont get done this weekend, maybe there can be a round too for those of us that couldnt make it this time.
(I am probably pretty useless compared to the folks that are making there way there though).

The manifold washers have been swaped out because of the header but I will keep digging
Safety should be everyones priority this weekend. EVERYBODY should bring a set of safety glasses/goggles or faceshield as well as gloves their comfortatble with.
Ill bring a couple extra pair of glasses just in case mark.
Gloves, you guys are on your own but there is an Army/Navy store just around the corner from Marks that has this stuff also in case you forget.
Also, Burbank auto parts/PepBoys is close to Marks as well if you forget. Please dont get upset if someone tells you to stop what your doing if you dont have your protective equipment on. (Think HS autoshop)
Marks spearheading this thing and offering up his place of business to get it done, we need to take care of him as well as each other. Im looking forward to a good time with some good people this weekend, taking someone to go to the emergency room is NOT on my list of a good time... Hope everyone understands.

I have bellhousing to transmission bolts, I'll be in Pollock Pines/Camino all weekend. Looks like it's time to "rob peter to pay paul". John

Hey, he did his part. He came out with a multimeter to help me get the faux-lux back running enough to make it to Burbank. Cruiser-Karma strikes again!
Took me ten minutes to fix it, and it had no problems at all making it to Burbank. Made my way to Marks briefly this evening and now it's time for bed. I almost can't sleep!

Although I'm a Land Rover guy I'll be stopping by at some point tomorrow to see the progress and give Gene a small present. If you need me to go on a beer run or go to the auto parts store I'll be glad to do it. See you in the morning.
