Lookin good John Paul....are those still the seats I gave you or have one of your other purchses allowed you to find a correct time period seat? I like the way the cruiser looks, and I swear if you get rid of this one like you did the last 40 you did I'll have to hurt ya!

nice jp. when i was asking about which tires you are running, i meant the ones from the older photos. interco maybe? size?

Daniel... those are 32 x 9.50 super swamper TSLs

Are you going to put the winch back on or go with a different one?

Looks great!

Thanks J-bo, I picked up a used warn xd9000i a while back that will be going in place of the ramsey PTO.... I'll keep the ramsey for a future project.

Thats one Amaizing looking Cruiser ! Beautiful JP. I just picked up some 60 rims for my son's Cruiser those look Great. I also dig the living room slash paint drying booth LOL How honey do's did that take to get that approved LOL

Thanks Rob! the "honey" was out of town that weekend that was the only way I got away with it..... so she has no clue and as long as she doesn't start getting on MUD I think I will be okay :grinpimp:

Man that would be sweet, and its so close.......... you guys want to start a FJ45 five fund for me???? :grinpimp:

Wait? What? I see a roll cage. I'm sure my eyes are not seeing the pictures correctly.

see how marriage has ruined me:crybaby:

but don't be to worried I could only drill half of the necessary wholes needed to mount it.... so the is still some "MAFIA" magic in it :grinpimp:

that 45 is soooo tempting...

agreed if only it was a removeable top and I didn't have three other projects ahead of it.....

If you need someone to go check it out I would be more than glad to Gehn!

Well I took a few steps backwards yesterday...... was going to go for a test drive around the nieghborhood but instead discovered a massive oil leak coming from the back on the engine. Turns out my rear main seal massively failed:crybaby: as soon as I removed the flywheel pieces of the seal fell to the floor!!

So I removed everything last night and the new rear main comes in today and I should have it all back together tonight. Then I still have a long list of things that have to get buttoned up before my trip to the mountains on Thursday.... its going to be a long couple on nights ahead :bang:

Sucks about the rear main seal. But the cruiser is looking sweet! It's builds like yours that keep me motivated on my 60 (and drooling over a 40). Can't wait to see this in person.

J p

You still have those tsl's?

Has upstate ever host a swap meet? I saw that the one in Cali had a great turnout. I have lots of stuff and I need lots of stuff.

I ended up pulling it off and got everything back together in time for my trip to the mountians this past weekend, although I don't think I selpt much of last week.....

First impressions are I LOVE THIS CRUISER..... driving the 40 up to around the mountians last weekend made me fall in love with my 40 all over again. I have always loved this 40 because it was a very early model that has lots of unique quirks, but it has always been such a chore to try to keep up with traffic and especially driving it thru the mountians. Any of the steep grades I would encounter heading into mountians would reduce me to 3rd gear and struggling to keep the speedo about 40mph..... the tired old F and single barrel carb. just weren't up to the task. Now even with a well worn in 3FE (235K) my cruiser just flies I was charging up highway 25's steep grade headed into Hendersonville in 4th and doing 65 mph; actually passing people:eek:

So to sum it up the 40 feels like a whole different animal now, it is a pleasure to drive, its tight... no more rattles, and handles like a dream. The best surprise to me was I averaged around 17mpg on the trip 500 mile trip.... not bad at all for an old worn out 3FE :grinpimp:

I still have a lot of little details to wrap up but for now I am just going to enjoy driving it as is...... I have forgotten what head turners old 40's are as I have gotten more waves, nods, and compliments these past few days driving to work than I can remember.

I only have a few pics as I forgot my camera this past weekend:doh: but here is what she looks like all buttoned up with her new OCD top
