The selfie was awesome,

As for the bubbles, was that the first or last panel you did? Thinking either it's dust or the nozzle of the gun had crud in/on it?

It was mid paint from an order standpoint. I think it's just dust from the room. I tacked but who knows...if some dust in the paint is my main grip then I'm in a good place!

Nice f***ing work. Can't wait to do the body and paint on my project.

More practicing on undersides of panels. Found out how much is too much paint and how to create tiger stripes. No biggie and mistakes equal the best learning! Not even sure if I'm gonna sand and repaint or just leave them for 'character'.

I was hoping to get more painted over the past two days (took time off work) but the cooler temps meant longer dry times.

Looks great Jon. Love the color. Have you thought about trying to hang the parts so you can get more than 1 side per flash cycle?

That's a good point and I did consider it. It'd definitely let me get more done but it would be tough (based on my newbness) to use proper gun technique (distance, overlap, etc.). Doing it the way I have definitely takes more time with taping and waiting for the paint to cure before I can tape the other side but it gives me some much needed gun practice.

called it ;) ..... but id trade that for my paints imperfections.

Looking great man, keep it up.

The word restoration is way over used for sure.

Looking really good Jon, good color choice for sure. Don't be too hard on yourself, for the first time doing body and paint you took on a HUGE project and from what I can see you are doing great. Keep doing what you are, keep in mind that several light "dusting coats" are far better than one heavy coat.

All paints "flow" at different rates and the same paint can flow differently from application to application. Temp and humidity play into it as does the surface being painted. Once you get this job done and all assembled I can almost guarantee that the results will have you thinking of your next project and figuring out ways that will make it easier on you and how to improve the results. Keep posting up, great build to follow!

Thanks for the compliments and words of encouragement! I am most definitely pleased with the results so far...but I was born a perfectionist. This is definitely NOT a restoration regardless of how it could be defined. I liken it to a restomod-fancification!

Another batch of panels glossing out after 3 coats. Planning to shoot the interior of the tub tomorrow afternoon (hopefully). The booth will need to get slightly dismantled and then put back together in order to get the tub in there. After that just small parts - hinges, soft door frames, etc.

Really digging that color dude. Looks fantastic.

Watching paint dry (flash). 3rd (and final) coat goes on in 12 minutes.
