Sounds like you guys need to give Mike Rowe a call! :hmm::idea:
I have a good friend who does kitchen hood cleaning and grease remediation/ clean up in Culver City CA and they were approached by " Dirty Jobs" about doing a show on Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning and the problem is no restaurant wants what we clean out shown on TV.

Yeah, I have mine cleaned every 3 months...just a small unit, so it doesn't get too bad and my dishwasher does a great job keeping the baffles cleaned regularly. My now retired appliance repair guy for 30 years used to show me pics of some of the local restaurants and what he would find in the back of some fridges....💩. On the flip side, he would always say that we were one of, if not the top clean kitchens that he worked in.

Now as far as what I am working on...I'm going to go by and see Paul today at World Tour to see if he's willing to rebuild my front 3rd member with gears and a locker. If he's good, I'll go ahead and order some parts. Thinking of going with the Eaton electric locker up front...I have the ARB in the rear and the compressor could handle the front too, but thinking of the e-version to eliminate some plumbing.

In case it wasn't seen in the GER thread, I munched up the gears pretty well up front....o_O

Keep in mind with the E locker that you have to get a half rotation before it locks and then it will unlock if you go in reverse so it needs a full rotation to re-lock. I’m sure you’ve talked to Paul about it but something to consider

I stopped by and saw Paul at World Tour...he's willing to do it, but about 3-4 weeks out, maybe a squeeze in since it's a bench job that I'd have out for him already. He's disappointed in the Yukon gears now and said Nitro was in the same boat and most likely out of business. Revolution is the only other real option for non stock ratios on the 80, so that may be the (only?) way to go.

I also reached out to @cruiseroutfit and got an almost immediate reply to my email question today from Chance (thanks!)...they can do a built setup with a core and have it to me in about 3 weeks (2 weeks lead/build plus shipping)....I did just get confirmation that a core is available, which would be preferred to limit the time I'm in pieces in the driveway! Probably a $3,500 job in the end including the ARB locker upgrade...this is of course just for the rebuilt 3rd (or parts plus build labor from Paul) plus knuckle rebuild kit, not including any labor time for me to pull everything apart and re-install. I could get about $750 refund on the core if I send mine back if it's not completely munched to pieces, so that helps some!

If it doesn't work out to get done before Fall Crawl, I'll just take the 4Runner and M101a2 w/RTT along and ride shotgun with others or spend some time at camp helping out on the organizing side....we'll see once I talk to my wife and see if she sh!ts the bed when I tell her about it... 🦀 ... Oh yeah, my birthday is next week and she's been asking what I want...score!

Sounds like you got a plan. Have you checked with ECGS ( east coast gear supply ) @CrabCake

Not at this point...I'm going to guess that pricing would be similar, but questionable if they would have the 80 front core on hand. I know they do great work too, but the thought of having a LC specialist build one is swaying me a bit in that direction. I've always had great luck with @cruiseroutfit for parts availability, pricing, and shipping.

Did you check with Lance? Great possibility he has parts there and maybe time as well. At least check ?

I have built and used Revolution gears for an 80. The gears set up very well. They appear to be good gears. They have about 10k on them now. They are in @davidp14 's 80. I set up a set of Nitro's for mine and the rear is making noise, slight whine.

I would check with Lance at Iron Pig, he should be able to get you set up. I am sure he has a core on hand. I do not have a core front on hand to build one.

ECGS is fast and builds hundreds of diffs all the time. I recently ordered one for a Tacoma with locker and it was quick.

No issues with CO but the timing to ship across country may hurt you.

Excellent info, thank you both! I didn’t know about Iron Pig, I’ll look into it!
