That pin should tap out. One way or the other. Use a punch or flat head screwdriver and try and punch the pin out. (Green arrow)
Or cut the line (red mark)

Is there a bolt hole on the drum to install the synthetic line. You will want to make sure you can attach the new line before taking it totally off.

There isn't a bolt-hole for the synthetic line. I was going to re-use the puck.

You don't want to attach synthetic line the same way you have to for wire rope. For syn just wrap the line around the drum 8-10 times and use a good quality duct tape over top, nice and tight. Then wind the rest on normally. The connection of the line, syn or wire, to the drum is not load bearing so if you ever (accidentally) get down that far you want the line to detach easily from the drum. Maybe even wrap a good 3 inches of red electrical tape around the line a couple 3 wraps up from your duct tape wraps to warn yourself not to go any further out.

The only reason not to cut that line or puck is if you want to hock the wire. Probably more frustration in detaching the wire whole than there is in the resale value.

Yeah but syn rope has been put on Warn winches long before that puck contraption came about. There's more than one way to skin this cat.

I don’t think it really matters. Just need to hold it and don’t unravel the line past the Safty part.

Hey, guys I really appreciate everybody's suggestions. I'm going out of town tomorrow and was way behind on a work-related project that has a deadline of tomorrow. Talk about cutting it close! That being said, I have not had a chance to work on the winch. It has been non-stop working for four days straight. I apologize for ghosting you guys it was not the intention. When I get back in town I will tackle this issue head-on and update everyone as it progresses. Again thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions as I was stuck up a creek without a paddle.

If you really want to get that puck out find someone with a compressor and an air chisel. I have one if you're close to Burke. Guarantee it'll come out in about 3 seconds. It might damage the puck a bit but nothing a little grinding or file work couldn't fix. Worst case, get Warn to send you a new one.

Picked up a nice set of gently used Falken Wildpeak M/T's on Marketplace for my spare LX wheels (315's)...this should get me past those slimy spots that were a little tricky at Good Evening Ranch... ;)

Replacing ignition coil and plug on cylinder #5, having an awful time with it- every time I get the new plug screwed in all the way, I can’t get the plug socket off- it sticks to the plug. Tried taping the socket to my extension, but it won’t tighten the plug all the way now. Any tips?

Nice score. Those work great on my GX and they have an insane amount of additional grip compared to the KO2s I ran at the last fall crawl. They're definitely a bit louder and quite a bit heavier though.

HF has locking extensions

Great to hear on grip...I was definitely lacking at the ranch in the goo, but still fared pretty well overall, in fact much better than expected with the BFG's. Fortunately I have a spare set of LX wheels just waiting for some skins, so I can interchange on daily & beach buggy driving to mud monster pretty easily...:p.
