Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

Replaced the bobbed hammer in a cheap, beat up S&W model 64-3 with a correct intact hammer. Elected to swap the DA sears instead of fitting the new one. Also had a lot of rust in the action around the edges where sweat or rain got in.

End shake and cylinder gap are good but the cylinder stop and notches are beat up. Little loose side to side.

Inventoried and organized back stock parts. Built radiator hose and heater T kits.

Battery died so replaced it with a Group 31 using the Slee battery tray. I had installed the tray itself a while ago but was using the stock tie down with the group 27 battery.

Made a new aux battery tie down by modifying the Slee hardware and using one of these Slab C Channel - https://www.hairpinlegs.com/products/slab-channel . previously had been using a roller cam strap which I did not love. Still need to paint it.

Winch install. Still need to hook it up. I was able to put it on without removing the bumper by taking off the headlights and lower fascia (phew)

Ha....these are the same guys I had build the table and bench legs for our ice cream shop. Ian and Evan are good dudes. I was talking to them a couple weekends ago when I was picking up my order and they've been running this business full time with just the two of them for over 10 years. They've recently hired an apprentice who seemed to be just out of high school. It's cool to see guys find a niche market like this and be successful.

I just wrapped up this trip. 3343 miles in 5 days. When I got to Indy I jumped on to US Highway 36. This was the original Pony Express route in to Denver. It's mostly a 2 lane road but with a posted 65 MPH speed limit for all but a handful of small towns along the way. I'd rather do 70 on this road versus 75 on I-70. I spent 1 night in Aurora before loading up ~1500 pounds of table tops and headed back after lunch on Saturday. The 3/4 ton 'Burb took it like a champ. I rented a Uhaul trailer in Columbus to pick up the table legs and pedestals. I was probably a little over my GVWR but it wasn't squatting too much and it drove fine. Overall MPG came in at 9.8. The recent gas price spike really was ill-timed for this trip.

Very cool and small world! I probably missed it but where is the ice cream shop and when does it open?

Can’t wait to check it out with the fam. The club should have cruisers and (ice) cream event if there is a lot of parking

To help clean out the garage put the 33s from the 200 on the LX. Just need to find a set of hub caps now since I lost mine

Did this replace the Avalon?
Oh no, this has been in the fleet. It's the wifey 200/baby hauler and she never liked how small the stock tires looked.

My second attempt at replacing the rear main oil seal on the 12H-T appears to be successful! Hallelujah!, and another big shout out to @DC470 for the assist in getting the h55 stabbed back into the engine . . . that is definitely a two-man job! And thanks to @CrabCake and @An3 for letting me use their transmission jack, that thing is STOUT!

When I was pulling out of my parking spot at the swap meet, I noticed that the front tires were digging a little bit into the gravel lot as I turned—I may have overcorrected the toe adjustment prior to making that journey to Virginia. Popped off the wheels and checked my measurements and sure enough, it was too much toe-in. Toe is now corrected and the truck tracks pretty straight on the road now.

Overall, I am happy with where things are at with the 61. Except for all the other projects that are in the queue, got to get crackin' on that list.
:)

Managed to get the cruise control working on my new-to-me daily. Turns out the CC cancel switch backstop on the brake pedal had broken off after 27 years of Florida heat, so the CC wouldn't engage. Instead of finding the correct price of OEM plastic I found that using a penny was just as good!

Creative engineering is one of the best parts of wrenching.

Yup, we just got our sign installed yesterday. We're hoping for a pre Memorial Day opening but it may push in to early June. How's "Cars, Cones and Coffee" roll off the tongue?
