I feel like I've just found the holy grail in finding this post.

Has anyone done this for a 2004 with NAV? It looks like it's technically possible to use a 98-02 manual AC control bezel but I'm interested to see if anyone has mapped the wiring for a 2004. If not, I'll post any differences after I try it.

I look forward to your report. I noticed you were able to source that controller pretty quick. Do you have access to many junked cruisers over there? We would love to find a source for the 2003-2007 LC manual HVAC controllers. All of the units here were shipped with navigation and we can only source the parts new and they are very pricey. MUD has developed a post 03 conversion also. If you remove all of your old stuff that is no longer used you will be able to fund your new stereo.

Where is the MUD post 03 conversion listed? I couldn't find it on the thread but I may not be looking in the right place. Thanks again for all of your efforts on this. You are my hero!

Howdy! It looks like the post above yours has the info you will need. @jerryb is the man for your year. The dash was changed in 2004 so it is impossible to change to a 3 knob, but they do have manual controls. The post 03 appears to be much easier although the parts are more expensive. Don't forget you will sell some of your old items to offset the cost.

Thanks. Dumb question: does "post '03" include 03 or does it start with 04. I have a friend of a friend with an 03 that got totalled that I was going to buy his bezel from. But sounds like that may not work. I have not seen pictures of the bezel.

In my case no, I did replace the amp but used the original speaker wiring from the amp to each door and sub. Follow the diagrams posted on here by TXSunDevil. They are very good and you just need to take your time and focus on the cable layout. It was actually a reasonably simply job for me (pioneer amp and pioneer headunit). I took RCA cables from the headunit to the amp and then used original cables.

A very worthwhile upgrade and made a huge difference to the sound quality in the vehicle.

I am planning on replacing factory amp as well. Have a Pioneer 5 channel amp. 9605 I believe. Did you have plenty of room under passenger seat once you removed factory amp?

@TXSunDevil
I don't know how, but I have a 2003 with nav that has these connectors on the back of the screen, but the regular 2003+ AC amp and stereo.
this is weird.

I'm searching for pins outs of those four screen connectors to match up with post 2003 screen. (m5)
#1 green ILL+
#2 white/green ILL-
#3 black/white grnd
#10 black/white IGN
#11 grey ACC
#12 blue/white B+
#17 white/blue body ecu
#21 green/red security

I'm going back to page one to search

He has the new dash. But the rear looks like this

I found some of the pinouts in question. Should we post on the post 2003 thread so we dont confuse the two?

they're reversed, aren't they. Well.... idk. can you post the pdf to 2002 nav, those 4 connectors?

I asked because this is the pre 2003 conversation and I thought maybe someone could post the 2002 PDF of the screen connectors. Or would you prefer I ask a 2004 owner?
Just so you know, the 2003 screen connectors are the same as the 2002.

I can post those from the FSM, or are you looking for pictures of the back of the 02 screen? If you need pictures of all the wiring plugs themselves with pigtails I will have those also.

02 Nav Delete Pt. 1

02 Nav Delete Pt. 2

Huge thanks to all of you guys that did the work and put the information out there! I was nervous about doing this but it wasn't too bad with all the information on here. I made some short videos for others out there like me that aren't too good at this stuff. I hope it is helpful! I got it all wired up and tested everything. It seems to be good to go. I still need to install radio and replace amp with aftermarket amp. I'll also be removing the CD changer which should clear up some center console space for storage.

I'll be making part 3 and 4 with a summary of this mod and the radio install if y'all think it would be helpful. Let me know what you think, please.

These are great videos. Please do part 3 and 4.
If I can find the parts, I 'll attempt this especially with your video's to fully clarify how its done.

@TXSunDevil The mounting brackets you ordered, are those for the non-nav Land Cruiser?
I just ordered them from Camelback and just wanted to see how you came across that part number.
Vehicle is driveable now, but I need a few more parts before I start the radio install. Ordered brackets and I'm about to order the antenna adapter.
Another question, what did you wire the power antenna (solid blue I think) on the Metra harness to?
