Agreed. Was hemming and hawing over it since was $400+ but OCD kicked in and ordered one.

Gonna be brandy new truck soon 😂
If my AC compressor ever fails (still original with almost 100K more miles than you) - I will live vicariously through you.

Last week I changed the original compressor on my 67 Caddy convertible. 57 year old compressor, was working til about 8 months ago. Most of my JDM collector cars (90s) all have the original. Can't remember last time I changed any Japanese compressor.

Actual compressors, I agree

I’ve had issue with the compressor CLUTCHES on both my 100 and one of my Tundras

I’m just hoping that replacing mine fixes my voltage issue.

But I also like the idea of a new old LX ready to go another 200k

If you’re never done it before and would like a couple tips, I did a write-up on replacing nearly everything in that pic in the thread in my sig. if you’re on a phone, you gotta turn it sideways to see members’ signatures

I’m not super electrical savy, but spiking voltage issue don’t sound like a faulty alternator

Thanks. I will most definitely check it out

I’m kinda handy with a wrench, but tips are always welcome.

Honestly, don’t know much about the 5.7, so it’s all new to me here

Sounds like voltage regulator failing to me, which is in the alternator. I have definitely been wrong many times before though…

I should also order battery cables and maybe a new fusible link
