Lots of thinking today. lol

Went to Beasley Knob this past weekend with the GA Cruisers. Really cool place. Not as big as Tellico but not as small as Gulches. We need to make this a run in the future. It's only a 2.5 hr drive from Greenville.

Gulches is another one we have yet to tap into. Would make a good winter run due to it's small size and variety of runs and proximity to the Upstate.

Any others you can think of we might want to explore or need to pencil in?

OBX ! ! !

Yeah

OBX would be sweet....beach ride! :)

Yeah I do think we need to do an OBX run. Andy knows the area real well. Maybe we can get him to throw together a run in late May.

I'd be up for camping or staying in a house. My connection has been lost with the mansion. But if we start now we should be able to find a good deal. Could stay up in the beach access and have a house and camping.

I would be all up for that, I know Marshall has but how many are going to take the 40's or opt for the comfy wagons?

OBX would be great but didn't I read something not long ago about them closing the beaches to vehicle traffic?

Some of the ATL crew have been talking about an Ocracoke run sometime soon...

OBX is great. A club trip over there would be a blast. If we plan it far enough ahead of time, it would be easy.

May starts to get really busy and June - August are not ideal IMO. My favorite time there is from the beginning of October to the end of April. Cheap lodging and other than the locals and some other adventurous souls, you have the place to yourself.

Yep, that was the case. The issue has been debated and ruled on back and forth since early last year. At one point it was a pretty comprehensive closing and it got messy in court. The decision was made that until everything is figured out, most 4x4 beach access would remain open. At least that is the latest decision that I know of...

It seems to be in constant flux and access regs are always clearly marked at each ramp. Do yourself a favor and follow them.

October - April are generally when the restrictions are lowest.

The Bonner Bridge fiasco, well, that's another story...

One other thing, outside of OBX I agree with:

1. Gulches
2. Hurricane Creek
3. Richland Gap

** 4. Windrock / Coal Creek, TN. Crazy amount of terrain (read over 72,000 acres!!) to explore, this is a trip I've REALLY wanted to do for sometime. **

This is why I want a LC. I want to be able to go places I've never been, and most people can't go to...

I agree with all of the runs.

Did you mean Oct-Apr? Or are restrictions actually lowest during the busy times?

 Yes, you are correct Bill! Moving too quickly for minor details... :)
