Hey guys, new to the forum (and to LC ownership). Glad to see that there is a lot of crossover between bike and LC folk.

My rig:

Santa Cruz Blur XC Carbon, was XT now SRAM X0...it's light and fast but I made the mistake of riding a Tallboy 29'er and now I've got the jones. :D

And when I'm not riding that, I'm riding this:

Santa Cruz Stiggy 'cross bike, Dura-Ace and Easton wheels

is that slower than a beach bike.. looking at those gears, it looks like a slow "cruising" ride. Don't you live in the flat lands?

it's painfully slow on pavement, but on the trails it's plenty fast... It's faster than I feel comfortable with most of the time. The baby Jesus didn't design my big ass for speed. I think its 34 up front, 18 in the rear... and I have a spare 16t rear cog in case I feel froggy.

SS is so gratifying. I'm not a fast rider by any stretch of the imagination but most people can't hang on my go to trail when I ride my SS. It always seems to be the right gear for me on everything but the steeps.

32x18, but thinking about going to 32x20

mine might be 32t up front... it's been so long since I built it, I can't remember... i love it. quiet. no derailleurs bouncing around. pure bicycle, the way it was meant to be.

Picked up another bike recently, my 1st single speed (since the BMX days)! 2010 Redline Monocog Flight 29er in large.

Single speed...took me forever to build 'er...
began as a univega super sport. Scored it for free from my Aunt.
Got an old BMX hub...
stuck on some nice specialized tires, different handlebars and new brake cable and levers and the other goodies
:wrench:

Couple of my rides...

1. Canondale 29, converted to single speed (although pic still has rear gearing wheel, has since been changed). S&M seat, grips, and pedals, Gravity cranks, BlK MRKT Badda Bing bars, BLK MRKT stem, Front Brake deleted(since pic was taken), Kenda Small Blocks (since pic was taken), Front fork locked out. I use the bike for tails, and street riding.

2. Volume SledgeHammer 26", My daily street rider, dirt Jumper. Animal Sproket, Kenda Small Blocks. I replace parts as they break.

3. Fit Van Hommen Sig model in GOLD. Street, and park bike. Bike was pretty loaded with good parts. Ditched certain items for weight, and replace items as needed.

4. Kustom Kruiser, beach cruiser Chopper. Its made for an adult, so its pretty big, used it for my Boardwalk cruiser when I lived in South Florida.

That's a nice road bike! I bet it's hard to find a custom steel builder as these days, composite frames are the big sellers.

Another On One

Some really nice bikes being posted in here! Haven't been around too much, not much Toyota stuff this summer, but went to Scotland to mountain bike! Took the Kona 29er over there and rode for 7 days with a crack through the pinch bolt tab on the thru-axle fork. Came home and built up another On One Inbred 29er to ride while the Kona was in rehab. And I'm selling the Blackbuck frame because it's too small for me.

Here's the pics!

The Iron Horse is my sons bike, I just picked up this Giant Faith to keep up with him.
