Rubber flexi-flares. Think you can still get them from jc whitney. They aren't perfect, the warp/bulge when you bend 'em around a squared wheel well. You can see a little better in this pic.

Hi All:

X 2 !!

I used these also on my '40. Cheap and effective.

Was gonna use TJ flares, but I had cut-out the rear fenders too much for the TJ flares to fit.

Regards,

Alan

Maybe not hardcore in the way that a buggy is hardcore....But I wanted to build the most capable daily driver, that would still be a joy on the road, that I could. While still getting 18-20 mpg's on the highway. (actually that last part, just sorta happened and it doesnt make sense to me either :D )

Been building it through several phases for about 8 years now. The goal was a rig that could wheel 95% of the trails out there and not compromise comfort and streetability. Also to not need/use a trailer. I can comfortably drive it all year on chicago toll roads.

3.4, a340f, dual inchworms with all the goodies. 8" axles built to what I believe is the strongest setup. Marlin USA springs, 21"-22" to the frame, hydro assist....tons more. Several things on the truck were done a little bit differently than conventional recommendations, but i believed it would work, most of it has.

Hi All:

Georg, that rig looks like it can take any trail! :D

Is this a personal trail rig, or a client's truck? :)

Regards,

Alan
