lucky bastard.....your rig looks like it should have been IN lcq

Backdoor is for players with horsepower. My rig does not apply. But thanks for the kind words.

Nice rig Chop Shop. Is it based off of a specific truck or is it a tube chassis?

A month or so ago it was a back halved, exod 85 toyota. I didnt change the suspension at ll just cut off the cab and the old whooped asss cage and stated over till it looked like this. It was a mad dash to get it done in time.

It still has the front half of the frame and leafs up front. Oh yeah and a heater too! Its just my trail beater till I finish my big buggy.

Here is a link to the last build on it. https://forum.ih8mud.com/79-95-toyota-truck-tech/448809-my-beater-needs-help.html

I normally post in the hardcore section cuz I cut allot of stuff up but I put this one in the minitruck section to get a little "street credit" with the mini crowd over in there.

We did allot of busting ass to get the new EFI engine in and running well along with prepping a race car the same week. Not much sleep and allot of work was the answer.

I will get some updated pics in the beater build thread and get it up to speed as soon as I get a chance.

Alright, Ill play.

Heres mine at KOH next to a sweet cruiser truckamabob at the backdoor parking lot. Whos green rig is this?

I think that is splitpeas rig (peesalot on pirate).

so a bumper, knobbies, lockers and a 6000 pound station wagon is hardcore?

Wow I was misinformed.

Hardcore is so purdy these days.

It is the only thing I have got and it goes pretty good.
Just because it is not all banged up does not mean I don't wheel the hell out of it.
Plus I have to drive it everyday.
Not eveyone has the luxury of having another rig to just pound on all the time and another rig to tow it as well.
It works great for me and that is all that counts.
Hardcore or not.

There needs to be more 55's on here so here's mine.

I wanst insulting anyones rig or putting it down, just trying to say there is a certain flavor to the rigs in this section.

HardCore Corner
Hybrid, Buggy and Fab-from-Scratch creations...for those "out of the box" projects.

Ask yourself if your rig fits these parameters or if you have to look real hard to try to feel like it belongs here.

I dont post my custom tube rigs in the fj80 section for a reason.

The parameters need to be established before you go all Bible Thumper about them.

What is "hardcore"? Does it mean tube and doublers? Non-Toyota Parts? Truggies and buggies? A clean stock-looking rig that can go anywhere? Lifts and Lockers? Bobbed rigs? 4-link? Doublers?
What makes any rig more "hardcore" than the other if the definition is an etereal hunch?

also, what's a wanst?

I would agree that most of the pics posted are of pretty narly rigs and they are all great.
Unless I am missing something some of them do not seem to be all that hardcore or custum tubed out etc., but, they might be super capable of handling really hairly stuff. Some of the 40's that are posted here do not look any more modded than my 80, by the picture that is, but because it's a 40 it's hardcore?
I would love to have a nice 40,60, or a Pig or a buggy for that matter.
Either way I love looking at all of the rigs and what people have done to them, some are a work of art and it is great to see people's passion for off roading.

Chuck you know the parameters. Why did you not post a pic of your truck?

Its right on the thread/forum opener. I didnt write it, the admin did.

I would agree too. most of the 40s here dont fit the bill.

40s like chicagos and mookies are the examples of what fits here. 1 Lots of fabrication.
2 usually an engine swap.
3 major suspension and WB changes
4 a cage other than stock
5 big rubber and beadlocks
6 etc.

The 45 sitting on a 80 chassis is fitting of what belongs here.

This is a section for guys with hundreds of hours of custom labor to appreciate other projects with hundreds of hours of custom labor.

if your 80 had a cummins or a lexus v8 it would fit right in. Or maybe upgraded with long thick links and coilovers.

See the pattern here?

Maybe the section should be titled "hardcore at heart".

Im not saying you have to have bling parts and d60s or an expensive buggy just a build at the next level.

Helll my truck is ALL Toyota drivetrain, no expensive 4k axles or ls engine.

Just hundreds of hours building it DIFFERENTLY than every other minitruck.

Ill always be a rude assshole and I am not going to go into this anymore. Those that get it, get it.

Don't know if this belongs in Hardcore...it's my daily driver.

Ask yourself if your rig fits these parameters or if you have to look real hard to try to feel like it belongs here.

I did ask myself that, even prefaced my post with that disclaimer. I do have to look at my rig kinda cross-eyed to see it as truly hardcore. I rarely post here, but this is 'Mud and the thread title was so inviting. I wouldn't dream of posting in Pirate hardcore...

So Poser needs fired as a mod.?
He is slipping in his old age by letting photos in this section.

great........now I feel the wind off a 14 inch boot:flipoff2:

shoot, half the 40 folks on the 40 series board should be here then...

I would like to offer one addendum: Passion.
Some people are simply passionate beyond reason for their truck, Pighead comes to mind, where I'm certain he would die for his 55. That's hardcore, if you ask me.

I also wasn't trying to appear on the offensive in that previous post, but the situation called for clarity of subject.

As to my rig? It's that lifted Smart Car, I posted it about a page back:cool:

I will admit, my truck is not anywhere near hardcore by the recently established standards. It is however hardcore on the poor college kid spectrum.

I agree. I say, if you wheel it, hardcore or not, post that junk up. I like to see it all, you NEVER know where you will catch a good idea.

Is this considered hard core? It gets beat on, thats for sure. :D

That's where I stand with my 80. It's more hardcore than the 80 Tech section but it's def not a buggy! The drivetrain is all stock except for Longs and 5.29 gears and it's still full bodied. However, everything that has been done is custom, it's trailered and I beat the living piss out of it. I wonder if that's enough to qualify... :meh:

less crap talking and more pictures.... yall are boring me.

but I LOVE crap, and talking about it!

i say if you wheel hardcore trails, no matter what level of customization your rig is at, then you are hardcore
