i was bouncing around on pirate, and asked where peeps are mounting ARB switches in der 60's?????? Steve, your name came up as someone who has some type of mounting plate etc... any ideas, or Poser???

ps pics would be cool for future referance...

I used the the factory blanks in the dash. My rear defog doesn't work so I used that switch for the compressor power. I got another rear heater fan switch and wired that for the rear locker. Its in the hole next to the defooger sw. If you have a front locker, you could use the extra knockout way over on the right of the ashtray. I wanted to use the ARB switches but they just aren't quite the right shape for the OE holes. You could probably make them work. I didn't want to carve up the trim piece.

Hullendersauce,
Steve Crase here - I wish I was half as funny as Kramer. Don't know if I'm who you are addressing - Landpimp's the poser - but Christo came up with a nice switch layout that has proven to be very practical for me. He moved the rear heater switch from the rear left side of the center console to the right rear side. The useless coin holders were removed and the ARB switches inserted in their place. Pump is in the front right (passenger) side. Front locker switch is the front left side and the rear locker the rear left side where the heater switch used to be. I like it but I do pull the fuse for the pump when I'm not wheeling for the day as the switches are in an exposed location. I have to ask the wife not to put anything in the center console front opening when we are wheeling so nothing gets in the way of the switches when I need them. I've seen them mounted on the dash too, and they are less likely to be mis**** there but I like the location in the center console for quick and handy access.

7footyeti over on the pirate board told me about ya. he said you go by "poser" on this board, and by the name of Steve Cramer from MN. ?? anyway, thks for the input.

Poser's an evening'er on the forum....probably on later tonite...

amazingly, he actually works a bit during daylight hours.... :o

I think steve had to go back in and finish his probation. He was caught stealing cheese. That is a serious charge up there.

Mine were mounted where the pocket was...air + front + rear ARB Lockers.

I am planning on mounting mine where Razor mounted his in that compartment. I found single cutouts that the ARB switches pop into and can be attached to each other to make a bracket. You can buy two end pieces and one center one if you have 3 switched to mount.

Mine were similar in my FJ62, I liked them there:

Pneumatic switch

FWIW: I deleted all the troublesome ARB electrics by using a totally pneumatic switch. Only downside is running the air tubes through the firewall. Makes a cool PSSSST sound when its disengaged. These guys sell them: www.gulfcoastrovers.com

Cruiser greg,

You have any pics of the non electrical switchesd mounted in you truck?? I am very interested in going this route. Thanks Tim
