@lechnito when they got it up on the lift they found a lot of frame damage that I hadn't seen the many times if been crawling on the ground underneath the cruiser. Additionally in at least one area where the body mounts to the frame, the body is disintegrating. I knew there were some rusty spots on the frame and body, but didn't realize the extent of the damage. At this point I'm looking for a truck with a shot engine to become the new host of my drivetrain. Or, depending on what the wife has to say, I may have a turbo 3b/h55 combo for sale, along with a bj60 body to part out, and just put my cruiser dreams on hold for some day in the future.
@bigdaddychud totally understood and not really a buzzkill. I kinda like the coffee and cars idea, but maybe we could aim to do that during their expedition theme meet in the fall? I had never heard of that before though. I know we won't be able to do something that will fit everyone's wants/needs, but hopefully we can do something that works for most! Also, would be great to do this more than once.
