I'm sorry to say I won't make it, I drove my LJ to omaha ne and now have a cracked head. The truck is at a mechanic and now we're trying to locate one. I've already contacted Toyota but it's going to be 1k+ on the head alone through them.

You would be wise to consider an engine swap prior to moving forward with the repairs.
Agree with Peter. Sheeet-can the crappy L and put something else in.
Considering a 1uz right now. I've see a few walk through on it here. I'll make another post later if I decide to
Engine swaps are a walk in the park.
It seems pretty straight forward for a 1uz swap. I want to keep. It manual though, so I'll have to look into getting an adapter plate for the transmission I think.

Sorry to hear you're having issues and hopefully you'll get your Cruiser sorted in the near future.
Guys in the Tacoma world have also done 1uz swaps and some may have kept/installed a manual behind it.

I probably won't know until a day or two in advance if I can make it or not.
Plus, the tranny and transfer case out of my 70 are at Georg's shop being rebuilt and definitely will not be back in time for installation, so our FZJ80 will be my Cruiser at the ready. Consequently, you may not want a red-headed step child being allowed in again (last year my FJ40 was my Cruiser at the ready so I would be a repeat offender).
You're grandfathered in regardless of what Series of Cruiser you chose to drive.

I will be there in either my 40 or 60 and have a buddy who would like to attend with his 100, if that’s ok for us to come.
If you plan to attend even for one day please participate in the attendance poll. Communications once on the trails is somewhat limited so it's important to know who is coming and on what day so we don't leave anyone behind.

Military screwed my pay over so we're reeling from that. I'd love to go, but just can't manage this time around.
