If the 16 "definitely attending" and the 10 "maybe's all show up this will be an epic gathering of 70 Series Land Cruisers.

You would be wise to consider an engine swap prior to moving forward with the repairs.I'm sorry to say I won't make it, I drove my LJ to omaha ne and now have a cracked head. The truck is at a mechanic and now we're trying to locate one. I've already contacted Toyota but it's going to be 1k+ on the head alone through them.
Feeling defeated, but she will run again.

Agree with Peter. Sheeet-can the crappy L and put something else in.
Engine swaps are a walk in the park.
It seems pretty straight forward for a 1uz swap. I want to keep. It manual though, so I'll have to look into getting an adapter plate for the transmission I think.
Sorry to hear you're having issues and hopefully you'll get your Cruiser sorted in the near future.I'm sorry to say I won't make it, I drove my LJ to omaha ne and now have a cracked head. View attachment 1785058 Now that we're only a couple of weeks away, I hope we hear from the "I may attend" crowd.![]()
You're grandfathered in regardless of what Series of Cruiser you chose to drive.I probably won't know until a day or two in advance if I can make it or not.
Plus, the tranny and transfer case out of my 70 are at Georg's shop being rebuilt and definitely will not be back in time for installation, so our FZJ80 will be my Cruiser at the ready. Consequently, you may not want a red-headed step child being allowed in again (last year my FJ40 was my Cruiser at the ready so I would be a repeat offender).
A 100? You've got to be kidding?I will be there in either my 40 or 60 and have a buddy who would like to attend with his 100, if that’s ok for us to come.
To be clear, you and your Subaru are still welcome to attend.
