My two concerns with the stock u-bolts are 1)trashing the threads getting the nuts off and 2) will they be long enough to work with the OME 2" lift springs?

Where would be the best place to get new ones if I need them?

If you have a truck pro around you they will make them as you wait.

Do you recommend I go that route or risk it with the stock bolts?

Dude-get New u bolts and nuts. Your whole life depends on them.

X3

Get new.

u bolts are technically a one time use part. they are made to stretch to fit. after that point, they become a breaking point.

Why would you even risk using old U bolts? Even if they would work with the thicker spring pack? New ones are cheap. The OME ones ain't so cheap, though. Buy the new ones from the place you buy the springs.

Like everyone said, never re use U bolts, plus good chance you will have to cut them off anyways, but they will likely break anyways if you try and unbolt them, and once one side breaks the other will not. Get an angle grinder with a cut off wheel and cut them on the top and be done with them in one shot.

i've re-used many U bolts so long as they had no damage. Usually threads are stripped or buggerd from rocks. Then i replace them.

The OME springs will probably require longer U bolts, especially if they are the heavies.

With skyjacker springs the stock U bolts fit fine.

Thanks for the information guys! Will be ordering new U-bolts soon.

(BTW, took the 33s to the tire shop to get all prepped up and sealed today...)
