From what I have read, the sniper has questionable performance at higher elevations. I doubt you have ventured very high yet but have you experienced anything yet? Has performance continued to be as you expected. I am hoping for July for PP as I have a ton to get done once she is done at the paint shop.

I've had my sniper install get me up and over Monarch Pass with no issues. I haven't tried it at any higher elevation...yet.
Very encouraging, was driving over Monarch last week and was a little dejected thinking I wouldn't be able to drive the PIG from Oklahoma to see my son in College.

Just as soon as I made that comment, I went out to take the pig for a drive. The handheld display started going wonky and I have a high AFR reading and a strong rich smell coming out of the exhaust. I guess I should have knocked on wood before chiming in. I have a call/email in to Holley to help diagnose the problem. I'm thinking the ecu is crapping out.
Zion is maybe 4-5000 ft or so in the roads, higher of course at the peaks. I experienced good performance with the EFI. I still have it in learning mode. I understand at some point it is best to turn off learn. The only thing I noticed was at stops I experienced several stalls, but I don’t think it was the elevation?

If you decide on Southern Colorado/Northern New Mexico, here are a few teaser shots of an area of New Mexico that shouldn't be missed - Valles Caldera National Preserve. There's a Forest Service road that traverses the north rim of the caldera with potential dispersed group camping sites, one with great views similar to these. I imagine that @Lifelong40Fan and @abqcruiser have probably been there. But why listen to me, I don't even own an FJ55

The last photo shows the vehicle that got me and my wife to the trailhead, the one I didn't quite finish building before Pig Party 2018 (but I did have an FJ55 grille and some zip ties ready), where I was hoping to meet up with @LAMBCRUSHER to deliver an A440F.

Yup, been going up there since HS days. Here are a dorks hanging out at the Valle Grande and fishing on the Jemez. And another pic from near Questa. NM is so beautiful! Just as an aside, the Valle Grande was also the location for shooting all the Montana scenes in the Lonesome Dove miniseries - the only movie that has a chance of rivaling a book IMHO. Cheers

I am not sure if that is a 40 to 55 difference, or just a difference between the years. Over the years they route the brake lines differently.

Also nearby in Southern Colorado is the Platoro area that @Lifelong40Fan has mentioned, which is not far north of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, owned jointly by Colorado and New Mexico. There are FS roads that head south from the highway between Chama and Antonito that take you to the railroad tracks out in the boondocks. Probably some good dispersed camping in the area also.
I could certainly help with some advance planning w.r.t. potential camping spots and trails. Some of the areas are on the list of places my wife and I want to check out further anyway. And there are some roads we drove on 20 to 25 years ago that we wanted to see if they were still drivable.
The interactive map (routes superimposed on aerial photographs) on the Great Continental Divide Ride website is a great resource. The trails traverse a lot of the areas in Colorado and New Mexico that I've mentioned. Check it out here:
