Save me from my analysis paralysis...I am finally going to pull the trigger and get a proper phone mount.

There are endless options. ETSY, 3D printed, ash tray conversion, magnetic, cup holder....the list goes on.

What's the best no fuss, utility phone mount for the LX dash? What do you have that you would recommend. With black Friday I figure it's as good as a time as ever.

See my other post for a single drawer for my cargo area in the LX as well.

Carmount. I use in every car I own. Clean, simple and more importantly for me, doesn’t vibrate.

I use a magnetic mount for my phone and a Bluetooth device with built-in Speaker for hands-free phone use.

Have you considered just keeping your phone in your pocket and use something like this:

I bought an ash tray conversion off Etsy and really like it, just plug my phone in and tuck it away since it connects to my apple carplay setup

Ash tray conversion. My phone charges wirelessly while it acts as a data tether to my iPad mini running Waze and OBD Fusion.

I use an old school magnet mount that has two screws into the button blank on the right side of the centre console stack. So old that it came with a 2” adhesive metal plate to mount to your phone (mine is glued to the back of my phone case, my wife’s just floats between the phone and the case).

Hop in the truck, plop phone on magnet, drive away. So easy I have one in each car (two other cars are suction cupped to the wing window, the other one has a metal mount that attaches behind the stereo trim).

Big fan of Mountech phone holder. It uses a 1” ball (“ram”-type) mount so lots of options. I drilled into the dash with four holes to secure this T track. I made a support plate for underneath the dash and it’s bomber. Never ever moves.

My ashtray has a UHF radio, so my phone mount is a Strike Cradle. It's hardwired to the T'eyes CC3 via USB for data and power, however you can also hardwire directly to a fuse for charging only. Shipping to the US might be a bit pricey though.

Some of the Strike cradles have an inductive antenna connection, it does improve coverage stability in more remote regions with an external antenna. Bit of an "out there" use case though!

Rockform Magnetic phone case > Bulletpoint magnetic 1" ball mount > Fanadue double socket arm > brocovan aluminum alloy handlebar clamp mount with 1" ball joint clamped to the "oh s***" handle.

Photo on where it's mounted please?

Two screws into the plastic that you can’t really see. Mount effectiveness depends more on the location/type of metal on the phone or phone case. I use an old school Scosche metal plate stuck to my phone case and it works pretty good. Be careful about where you locate the metal plate as it impacts wireless charging.
