I removed our flares - the fronts had a much bigger rust area underneath the leading edge than had started to show beyond the flare.

Our “common” leaks were in the lines that traverse the underside of the vehicle to the rear AC evaporator. Road grime and rust killed ours. They are now cut and capped.

Our starter lasted 285k and 22 years. Starter gear holding clip had popped out and gear was grinding. Replaced with a reman Denso.
