No need to work with them any time you see one an assembly is available from Toyota to avoid dealing with them

good to know, thanks Phil.

I think you are wrong: LIST: $53.07. MUD: $39.80

I have no interest in either an OEM PHH nor any cotter pin camps, but how does a Mud member get that pricing? I do all my own wrenching and always have. I've wrenched mostly on VW's and Audi's and some Chevy and Honda, but am sill getting up to speed on my newly acquired 80. This site has been in valuable. I'm currently in need of at least one and likely both spiders for the rear drive shaft. The stealership wanted over $70 each. I've found some spicer units for about 1/2 that. From my Audi and VW days I already know that OEM is often the best and from what I'm reading it appears to mostly be true for my 80. In my past I've always thought Spicer to be a decent brand but I'm thinking I've read something to the contrary somewhere on this site. It's a little off topic but let me know. I can me PM'd as well.

Thanks.

Call Onur, Sam or CDan AT&T heir respective dealerships and order the parts, tell them your username on mud and pay.

How do I know where they work? Does one work at AT&T? I'm confused a little by your response.

I am guessing Siri messed that up- should be "at their respective"

To answer the question. All three guys have their dealership banners IN their signature so it should be pretty easy to contact them.

Appreciate the help.

Snarky rolling eyes emoticon not necessary.

The head gasket on my 1996 was done at the dealership by the PO. it appears that SOME of the hoses have been replaced at that time. Is there a definitive way to tell if the PHH has been replaced in "recent" history? (about 77K miles ago) God, now that I list it that way, maybe I should consider replacing it anyway......... All the hoses on the truck (close to the firewall) have the cotter pin style clamps, but they are all still nice and flexible (making me think they have been replaced) and not hard as a rock like some of the other hoses under the hood. I have not SPECIFICALLY checked the PHH.

Any thoughts Dan, Beno or Sam?

Personally I'd say replace them all regardless of how they feel. They are pretty old hoses at this point. I have an 85 Audi and pulled off some original hoses last year and while they looked and felt great I'm much more comfortable having replaced them. In regards to the PHH unless the previous owner can tell you when exactly it was done or you have paperwork showing, I'd replace it.

@BILT4ME, as DubbinChris said. Replace it even if it's for your own piece of mind.

The image of it rupturing and pissing out all of my coolant while I'm cruising down the interstate @ 70mph haunted me.

And to make one more point about the quality Vendors/ LC friend's in this community.
Not only do these people take the time to research, discuss, educate, diagnose, supply any and all things Land Cruiser for us, they also care about the vehicle we have all chosen to bring enjoyment to our lives.

Chances are the guy at Pep boys, NAPA, Autozone etc. could give two flips about your LC at that seemingly lower price. I will continue to support the mentioned people because of the reasons mentioned.
