Anyone know the name / part number for this hose? It's from a '69 FJ40, goes under passenger side dash near heater, and is part of radiator fluid system.

Couldn't find it on any of the parts sites - any idea where to source a few extras?

Thx!

Can't figure out how to add a photo - am I required to use an URL or an I able to attach jpeg file??

Never mind - figured it out

It's a heater hose. Looks like it was kinked to bypass the a leaky heater core.

Can't take a photo of where it was installed at the moment, but it looked like it was installed as intended. Was connected to the two brass(?) fittings pointed downward to the right of the heater.

Make sense?

Like @Splangy said, it's a bypass. Used in a pinch (literally) when rear heater was removed. You can buy individual caps for the purpose at the auto parts store, and it will be a cleaner solution.

I need to do the same thing on the karma cruiser. One of these days.

Oh I get it - bypass for the rear heater. 10-4.

The caps you mention - metal I'm assuming? Any more detail on those?

Rubber. Help section at any major auto drone store.

Question for you Mark? When I bought my 68 model in 1974 it didn't have a rear heater as I remember the two pipes at the dash had something like JB Weld filling the holes. Installed a rear heater years ago and not sure what happened to the original pipes. Never knew if that was stock or some the first owner did when he removed the rear heater. My question is what did Toyota do when the optional heater wasn't installed, rubber caps? All my cruisers with a factory heater also have a rear heater. In the collection of brass tubes all have the Tee except for one pair that are for a front heater only. Don't ever remember gets parts out of a pickup and haven't a clue where I got them.

John

I have acquired several heater elbows with no rear heater provision. I assume that there's a pic and PN in the microfiche, but I've never bothered to look.

Figured I would save @65swb45 some time and see if this answers your question. It's fun trying to learn even a micro-fraction of what the true gurus know.

This shows the plugs:

However on the 73+ it shows two options - the pipes with the rear heater drops and the pipes without them:

Hope this is correct and hope it helps!

Time to muddy the water from the depths of unobtanium. Pre-67 heater pipes, made of rubber with metal block-off caps!

Note the inline draincock. In my stash I have one of those that still has a clear vinyl hose attached to it that looks factory.
