When Starts Friday the 26th but if you want to just come up for lunch Sat and cruise with us on the Blue Ridge Parkway please do.

Where Both Friday and Saturday night we will be camping out at Black Balsam off the Blue Ridge parkway. The trail is about a mile long and is what I would consider mild-moderate. You will get pin striping from branches hanging out in the road so be prepared but shouldn't be anything that couldn't be buffed out. All stock 4x4 vehicles can make this. I drove my unlocked 80 in several times. You will hit bottom but nothing a Toyota cannot handle.

Friday night your on your own for cooking. Saturday morning we will head out to the Pisgah Inn which is about 15 miles away. There we will meet about 11 and wait like everyone else for a table. Usually a 30 min wait. After lunch we will go back to camp. Those that aren't camping can either head to Mt Mitchell which is a good hr drive away on the Parkway or can come and park at black balsam and hick down the trail to our camp and do some sight seeing.

Sun we will head out.

I will be there.
I get back to Gvl late Wed night and thought I recalled somebody(ies) were going in Thursday night to set up.
If that's the case I hope to do that. I will be attending Moogfest in Asheville Fri and Sat so I may not ride the BRP this time, haven't looked at the afternoon schedule. And I have a policy of never (well, seldom) wait in line for eating plus I will probably need to get on up to Ashvegas early-ish for the good parking so I most likely will not do the luncheon although it is good enough and for the camaraderie I have previously abrogated my policy.
Can't wait to get back in Bonnie, get out in the mtns, see you guys, and shift into my stateside persona.

Wish I could but cruiser no run and I have no tent.

And what do you get for free there?

Steve I look forward to seeing you up at the Balsam as I hear your FJC is getting some skunk work upgrades :D

We plan to be there but not so sure about camping at black balsam with the kiddos. Like I mentioned before last year was miserable for almost everyone. So not sure where we will end up that night even if camping there is up in the woods for this year.

bet it will be colds as ever this time

maybe this time bring them some jackets and proper clothing and they will have a little more fun :grinpimp:

There are places to camp up there out of the wind, so don't let last year scare you off

David Davis usually shows up for the Parkway ride... I will most likely be there for lunch at Pisgah

Okay the trip needs a shot in the arm......

this is why we go

We can ferry you in from the parking lot close to Black Balsam.
I have an extra tent for you.
Now what's your excuse LOL.

So JP, Marshall, possibly Todd, Rick and Kat?
Sounds like a good crowd. Looking forward to seeing you.

My seldom seen son Liam will be meeting me at Moogfest. He will probably come along unless he has plans to stay with friends in Asheville.
He lives in the woods every other week. He is on staff with Second Nature Wilderness Therapy in their Blue Ridge division out of Clayton GA.
So he should be as comfy there as at home. Even better maybe because all they live in when they're in the field is what they pack in. They move every day or two in Leave No Trace style.
