We will be in the NC area starting Thursday night, trying to plan a little family outing into this one as well. Depending on the camping situation we may be in for Fri night. will keep an eye on the thread. We are in for Pisgah Inn on Sat for sure, might want to post a general time for that? Didnt we end up doing a brunch type deal last year?

I see how it is Matt, now that we won't be in the hurricane force winds all of a sudden you are back in

I am thinking we should all meet-up at Pisgah in a little before 11am so hopefully we can miss the breakfast crowd and beat the lunch crowd

I talked with todd yesterday. He is going to get us a spot on north mills river. Ill have directions up this weekend. Joel we can talk this weekend and figure out a plan.

Parkway Ride

Ok gents
Long time no talk... I suck at communication but I am still alive and back in the ole Toyota Fj40 that I will be buried in. The plan: I am 5 min from North Mills River. Going there today to check out some camping spots and talk to the ranger. Should have some news by tonight or tomorrow. Might not be able to drive into the spots I like --- because I have been ticketed for disturbing the "EARTH" although not one leaf was out of place. The spots I like will only be about 30 ft from the road where the rigs will be! Best I can do unless I find out from the ranger otherwise. There is a campground that has facilities if yall feel that is needed... Im talking more primitive off the dirt road with sites for camping.. Once I find the spot I will mark the mileage from 280/ northmills river road into the actual spot. Talk soon!

K we went out to North Mills River and decided after looking at the primitive options that we will be camping at the group campground. This has ample parking and plenty of room for car camping or tent camping! The two gravel roads in the campground lead us to the parkway. The first takes us straight up and the second takes us to 276 were we would head up from there. Directions ------------------------ from Airport rd/Hwy 280 ---head towards Brevard / Turn right on North Mills River RD..." AT THIS TURN THERE IS A NEW INGLES GROCERY STORE UNDER CONSTRUCTION....... after you make a right, drive a few miles till u arrive at the camp ground/ the first left is a big parking lot----take the second left and follow signs to GROUP CAMPING. Hopefully I got this right! Below are pictures of the area. I will go reserve this sight on Thurs... the earliest I can go! Call if anyone has questons 256 759 0152- Todd

Awesome work Todd! Thanks for scoutting that out for us I might just take you up on unloading the trailer at your house, not 100% sure that we will be using it yet but I will confirm with you later in the week.

Just thought I would update....I spoke to Pisgah Ranger Station, there was another sighting yesterday so they are definitely leaving the overnight closure in effect this weekend.

So looks like Plan B can be confirmed, if it has not already.
