Hope everyone had a great trip home. Enjoyed meeting everyone for my first club event. Next year I'll have to make it for the Friday night camping. If anyone ever wants to do some winter camping up at Black Balsam I spend a lot of time up there and Middle Prong night skiing the area. It's amazing when the snow and the full moon work out. Here are a few shots I took after the Inn.

Lance, it was great meeting you and your son, glad you could make it. Truck looks GREAT!

Had such a great time fellas. It went way to fast and I felt I didnt get to talk to everyone as much as I'd like to, new and old faces alike. Black Balsam was incredible, the meatloaf was BIG, the parkway drive really was enjoyable, and all and all a perfect birthday weekend getaway.

72...... I love this combo. Enjoyed following it all weekend and have sent a few pics to a friend to get him onboard with the camp trailer idea. Other than sounding like a helicopter LZ all night I was liking the RTTs. :D

What a great weekend!! I had a blast camping out at Black Balsam on Friday night with everyone and enjoyed the Pisgah Inn lunch and drive to Mnt Mitchell afterwards. I was stoked to see such a great turnout for this event.... thanks to everyone who came out and made it an awesome event

On to the next event! Lets get a bigger crowd for MLK!!!!!

A little late getting on here because we got home Sunday to a new house issue but I need to say what a wonderful time we had. Jeri has said about a million times starting about five minutes off the Parkway what a great weekend she had. She said it again tonight at supper.
I mainly went for the camping. I hadn't camped in the mtns for way too long. But I was super glad I went on the ride as well since otherwise there would be no 21st century cruisers represented. I couldn't believe Bonnie was the only FJC, these days there are usually more of them than any other type.

I was glad and pleased to see how many new faces/rigs were there. Jay and the WNC crowd are to be commended for recruiting and rejuvenating the membership. Nice folks, nice rigs. I was perhaps remiss in not meeting and greeting very much, I'm basically an antisocial curmudgeon by nature, but you all looked good and I was proud of the showing. Hope my nasty old wreck didn't bring down the property values too much. At least I had an SC tag so I wasn't besmirching the state.

Good work on the Black Balsam call JP. I'd been there on foot but I enjoyed wheeling in Friday night and camping on the bald. I was pleasantly reminded of the good old days on the holy land. We'll have to go back there soon. Anybody interested can PM and we'll try to work up a weekend. I'm booked until Nov but so far open through Jan except the obligatory traditional family holidays. Maybe we could go up Friday and walk over to Big Rock Candy Mtn (Shining Rock) on Saturday.

BTW on the way over to Crabree to camp after Mt Mitchell we passed several unmarked roads going off both ways. Might be a fun Parkway Cruise to explore some of them. Or at least checking them out on a good topo.
Just saying.

I'm just getting back home from the weekend, I had to take a small work related detour to Pinehurst for a few days.

I'll echo the previous sentiments; great trip / time / fellowship, amazing scenery, thanks to JP and his better half for hustling to secure the IG camp site and as always, great to see old faces and meet new ones as well.

Here are a few pictures I was able to take; amazing views from IG and Jason's attention getting 45:
