I would use a small plate to block it off and then reinstall the tube. That solves the visual problems in California.

If you want a "factory" look for manifold block-offs the old YR Series vans had a plate that fits perfectly. It's a 17148-41010 and they are still available.

IFZ only, 1993-94 model years.

Pulsed Secondary Air Injection.

It is a form of manifold air injection for emissions control. It does not utilize a belt-driven pump like the 3FE.

Reviving an old thread. Does anyone know the PN for the PAIR block-off plate gaskets? Or does the block off plate not require a gasket?

Put your o2s where the pair was, leave your old o2s in the exhaust for block offs. The wiring will stretch to the manifold locations just fine . I did this along with removing egr from system and all the vsv and vacuum hoses from under the intake and vacuum lines from top engine. I run one vacuum line to feed the fps on the fuel line that's it. No codes runs great idles great. I'm 94

Could you post a pic of your vacuum lines or lack there of. I’d like to do this as well. Thanks

reviving this thread AGAIN... voodu3 / ajax1 .... I'd love to get a bit more detail on what you did. I have a '94 and I'm just starting the removal process of the PAIR, then EGR, and I'd like to remove as much of the non-needed lines as possible but I'm a pretty caution guy. I'd hate to rip out something needed. Likewise, isn't the VSV running something on the vapor canister?

If I understandcorrectly - everything but the vapor canister and EVAP VSV can go?

I was in the same boat about exercising caution and removing anything that might be needed, so I removed the Pair on my '94, added plates, blocked off intake, updated the rubber coolant line to a '95-'97 hard pipe, but I didn't remove anything related to the EGR. I did disable the EGR completely by reversing a couple a vacuum lines, so if it was ever needed again (unlikely), it could be brought back to life. It also ran better and noticably cooler after the EGR disable. I think my next step is to move the O2 sensors to manifold.

EDIT: My point was to say if you choose to just disable it rathr than remove, it's simpler and serves same function.

Thank you, TerraNerva.... I think I'll do that. Although I really want to tear all of that tubing nightmare out...I should go slow. Thanks

@Boneman

Can jump the sensor and loop the vac lines back on themselves, and voila...no more EGR

Save whatever you remove, you may want it back one day.

The vehicle will fail the visual on an emissions inspection without it. That may not matter now but it could down the road one day.

Right on, CDan.... it's original to the vehicle so it stays in my parts box (Any mod I do I make sure is reversible, and keep the integrity of the vehicle.) I live in a state that my not have any inspections, but whatever I may save in cost for those, I make up for in the horrid condition of our roads, LOL. I doubt I'll ever sell, but if I do it will help the next owner. I even label my parts in the 'parts box' :)

Old thread hi jack..... Anyone know part number for the pair valve hose to air cleaner assembly?

The part number was 17342-66010, it was discontinued several years ago.

There is a V6 Tacoma radiator hose that can be used as a substitute for it. 16572-07040.

I remember the day in the parts department when we sat around and looked at the hanging hoses and found that Taco hose. Good times!

Awesome, and here I thought CDan had turned into a museum only...... Straight from the source...Thanks gentleman..
