FWIW, I powder coated mine and they've held up fine, but the dial is difficult to turn as the thickness of the PC is more than what paint will be. If I do it again I'll clean and paint.

I've had good luck with VHT engine enamel and roll bar and chassis paints. Take a look here for their caliper paint, including red (mini-truck hubs) or gold (Land Cruiser hubs):

Thanks! Picked up a gold and black VHT caliper paints to do the hub cover, dial, and the extension from the rotor.

I did not paint the hubs but I painted the hub covers using brake caliper paint. The one you bake on after it dries

Painted mine and was glad I did. Didn’t end up perfect but a rattle can rarely does.

Trying to remember exactly but I believe I first painted the entire hub cover face white and then used Vaseline or grease over the top of the letters when I painted the rest so they simply wiped off

I painted everything and then removed the paint from letters with a small hobby file. You could also spray some paint on a smooth and sturdy surface and then press the parts in the paint to get the white lettering.
