Used some flat stock to set my toe-in.

All done for now. Driver's side is still a bit close to the tire. Really need to bite the bullet and go to 17's and 37's.

While I was working on the steering, I noticed the condition of my soft lines wasn't too good. Ordered some new lines from Rock Auto.

Kinda feel like working on my junk has become a full time job lately.

FWIW Dan, it took me two YEARS to wade through all the deferred maintenance of the PO on my first 40. My mantra was: it’s a machine; it has a finite number of parts.

Yeah, but all this deferred maintenance is my own...after owning this for 25 years, I think I'm 'the PO' everyone curses.

Well it survived a long (by my standards) road trip up to Boulder City this weekend. ~200 miles each way. No top or doors, w/dog. ~90+ deg F, no AC.

Great camping, one hard obstacle that everyone managed. I'd been up here a few years ago in our 80 and it's more difficult now than it was then. I was going to go up this time in the 80 w/my wife, but she bailed, so I took the 45. I took the sliders off the 80 a few years back and never put them back on as I was going to build new ones. I don't think I'd want to tackle this trail without sliders. The 45 is SOA on 35s and I bashed the sliders good going up and really hard coming back down the water fall. Lots of water running down the trail as well, which didn't help anything.

Put the top on for the winter. Last spring, after I pulled the top, I printed a new bushing...almost forgot about it. Found it on my workbench, I meant to test it out and print a few more in something besides red ABS, maybe a natural PET. Don't currently have access to a 3D printer though. I need to get one.

This fit nicely, we'll see how it holds up through the winter.

Took it up to Bogus for more ski-hill brush cutting.

I seem to recall that Jim @Downey found an off the shelf nylon bushing for that application at McMaster Carr. He gave me a handful if you’d like to have one.

Still rockin the rack I got from you. Got several compliments on it in Death Valley over this last week.
