Anyone figure out how to clear the vsc off dialogue box when in 4-low?

I have not. When I was at the dealer for an alignment, I asked about it and they said all the 4x4 Toyota’s have this vsc warning in low range since (I think he said) 2022. He said the 4Runner and Tacoma are like this. That doesn’t seem right to me but I haven’t looked into it.

They also couldn’t check alignment because the specs were not yet available on their Hunter equipment, and just said I should be fine with the larger tires alignment-wise. Was weird to be waived away from the service dept with no charges.

Anyone else surprised to find themselves wishing Toyota had put paddle shifters on this thing?
I'm a fan of the weightier steering in sport mode, but not so much of the gear holding..paddles would make for a much better experience that the shifter does in it manual position.

Won't help your case, but paddle shifters are included in Canada in the Premium and FE editions... (You can see the bottom paddle poking out on the right side of the steering wheel)

Whenever I put my '22 460 into low it throws a whole bunch of lights as well.

Does the VSC message keep popping up or will it go away if you press the exit/back button?

My LX570 and 3rd gen Sequioa give the same warning in 4L, that can't be turned off. It is annoying, but guess I have gotten use to it.

Edit: Can be turned off if PCS is turned off.

The center message goes away from what I recall, but the warning lights do not.

The warning message comes back in about 10 seconds after hitting the back button. Really annoying.

I did a break in oil change today @ 747 miles. We are departing this week on a ~4K mile road trip and I wanted to get this done for my peace of mind on the V35a. Nothing notable in the engine oil. I did not cut the oil filter open and may do that tomorrow. My oil filter was tightened by Zeus himself. My parts counter had the made in Japan filter in stock.

The factory skid plate was an easy removal. There are six 10mm bolts. Loosen (not remove) the 3 bolts that are in slotted locations on the skid. Remove the other 3 and then slide the plate off the slots. The image below is the transmission skid which uses the same slotted approach. The rear of the engine skid and the front of the transmission skid share these two bolts.

Great coverage by the engine/transmission skid. Thickness @ .160 inches/4mm is ok for lighter duty. I’ll upgrade to .250 inch thick aluminum aftermarket skids once the aftermarket is rolling. I had .250 inch aluminum skids on my Tacoma and they worked well and protected my truck when I would high center.

The factory ones are good for now.

I should have taken more pictures. Here are a couple I snapped of the underside, the engine skid plate part number and of measuring the thickness.

Mine was acting the same as yours. I got into 4th, but that was after getting to 30mph. The shifting definitely needs some work.

Anyone crawled under their new LC and poked around the engine bay? Found a small surprise on the backside of the cylinder head. There is an allen plug on the back of the cylinder head that is slowly seeping antifreeze. Have cleaned it off once hoping it was something manufacturing related, but it has returned. It’s an extremely slow leak, but still a bummer. Not really looking forward to having warranty work done if it comes to it. I’m currently sitting at 800 mi.

Hi, all,

Been driving my J250 for about a week now. Overall, it feels great. I've been driving a 2008 Acura TL for almost 10 years now and so going from that to a modern SUV was a big change for me. I'm overwhelmed by the tech and the size, but that's just my personal issue.

Here are some of my random thoughts about it:

I have about ~450 mi total and getting about ~21.5 MPG in the city and ~22 MPG on highway. At ~400 mi mark, I can start hear the turbo wind up, and the kick when pressing the gas pedal, makes me feel a little sick to my stomach. lol

As for interior space, I haven't really been in other vehicles besides my TL, but I have been in a Gen 3 Tacoma many years ago and while both look big on the exterior, the interiors do feel cramp. But I'm a smaller person so I'm not quite bothered by the cramped interior.

I think the hybrid battery kicks in when driving under 10 MPH? Again, this is completely new car for me so things like this surprise me. Also, I can see why people hate digital gauge clusters. They just feel slow, for all the tech thrown in.

The info-tainment center feels great. I'm glad the J250 has physical buttons for AC and such, then leaving music, maps, and the phone all digital. My brother's Gen 5 Subaru Forester info-tainment center annoys me as it's all digital. It is annoying the AC doesn't stay on after turning off and on the engine but my TL was like that. It's only a matter of time for me to learn the buttons location and operate via muscle memory, like I did with my TL.

Was planning to get pictures of it today but I've been getting wildfire haze lately so that'll come soon.

Family and friends seem to really like it. Especially family members who camp and hunt seem to really like the size.

I believe there is a setting in the infotainment screen that will keep the AC setting to what it was before turning the engine off.

Any thoughts on installing a drawer system or sleeping platform over the battery in the cargo area. How often do you need access to the battery?

So far loving how the GX drives and how quiet and comfortable it is. As of yet, have not had a chance to try it in any rugged terrain, but it is great on the freeway. Power is very good and I like the electric steering. Brakes are fantastic and the suspension works well.

Took it into the shop today for first repair. The passenger massaging seat stopped massaging. Internet search says a pneumatic line pops off. This was their first one so they sent me out with a loaner while they researched and called Lexus. Sure enough, the tech found one of the massage air hoses was not properly connected. I pick it back up tomorrow. I hope the fix is persistent as the day after tomorrow we depart on a 4,000 mile road trip so will get lots of massaging seat time.

While in there I have them checking out the Mark Levinson (corrected, TY) stereo as well. The more I listen to it the less impressed I am. Thin bass, shill mid/highs makes it fatiguing for music and even hands-free calling. I’m expecting they will report back that it is functioning normally. The Spotify equalizer settings do help here, but then my Spotify equalization is buggered up with my home stereo/headphones and the RX350h. What a disappointment. I would tell any & everyone to avoid the ML stereo. Not…worth…..it…

The Lexus OT roof rack is a dud too. Made intrusive rumbling wind noise at all speeds above 45mph. It is well put together and it looks good, they just forgot to have an aerodynamics person help in the design. Why would you offer a loud roof rack on a quiet vehicle? Mine is not going back on.

Unfortunately, two duds regarding sound and both seem to be shortcomings/overlooked items in the design. If you can, avoid both of these up-charge features.

Looking forward to exploring the mountains and actually trying out non-pavement capacities once we get back from the road trip.

My passenger seat massage is fixed. As expected a loose pneumatic hose fitting. They sent me this image of the hose that was not properly fit. It is the clear hose between the thumb and finger. Sharing here if someone is under their seat and trying to fix it themselves.

my hunch is you would never have to access the battery as the vehicle owner.

You've got a mass produced "Mark Levinson" branded system in your car. Not Martin Logan. But either way, my experience has been that when these companies that target the audiophile audience sell their branding to an auto manufacturer, you have to seriously adjust your expectations vs any of their actual home audio gear. The car systems can be pretty bad. Designing a good car audio system is a completely different animal than high end home audio.

Same with JBL Synthesis. Really good home audio speakers (the Synthesis line is a premium line for JBL) and the only car audio application I've heard of is in Toyota.

My wife's Volvo had Dynaudio. Same story there.

These companies are probably licensing out their names and maybe loaning a sound engineer for a few days. Part of my allure for the 1958 was my hope that I can go totally aftermarket much easier than I could in a higher specced model. Who knows, though. The stereo is down on my list of future mods.
