Initial set up of phone, vehicle settings, etc. is a bit clunky. But I guess once it's done it's done? It lacks storage space. The cool box is a novelty I will rarely use and from a storage standpoint it is underwhelming. Toyota should have done a two part console where just the lid can be opened to reveal a shallow tray for pens, tire pressure gauge, checkbook, brass knuckles, etc.
There's a very good tray available on amazon that I got for my non-cool box console. The best upgrade for $20 I've found thus far. The thing fits like a glove with zero rattle. Perfect little spot to fit the key with little rubber inserts don't allow rattles. If you're looking for a sunglasses and storage tray for the console, I recommend this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D5YDP1VL/?th=1

Hmm..I wasn't paying attention, but does the cool and non-cool box have drastically different dimensions?
Yes, from pics the cool box seems quite a bit smaller.

What is everyone’s real world miles per gallon on these babies? Sorry if I missed that in this thread…

I'm getting around 20 - 21 mpg in mostly city, stop and go driving. That's with around 460 miles on the clock. Expect it to go up once it's around 1500 miles or so.

I’m headed to my local dealership in Nashville to test drive a 1958, and the upgraded version with the rectangular headlights.

I was hoping that the smaller hybrid engine would get better gas mileage than 17 to 18! My 200 series gets about what, 12, 13?

I bet that will settle out on the highway and really improve, and I would imagine low range mileage would be better.

Anyway, thanks for the responses, I have already looked inside one of these, and they are certainly a much more tidy and small cabin, from just the appearance.

Does anyone have the general cubic measurements verse a 100 series or 200 series? Particularly the cargo area.

Previously Toyota quoted for the 200 with second and third row folded 80 cu ft. That is roughly the same as for the 5th Gen 4Runner with the second row folded (80 cu ft) and a great deal more than for the GX 460 with second and third row folded (60 cu ft).

But I believe that Toyota has changed how they calculate cargo area, so a direct comparision between the old cargo dimensions and the new vehicles may be difficult.

The dealer did not have the trucks completed with the pre-delivery inspection so I was only able to drive around the parking lot,.

I looked at the 1958 and the upgraded one, and Man that cool box is really small, lol.

I think the 1958 overall a better buy….

Anyone else surprised to find themselves wishing Toyota had put paddle shifters on this thing?
I'm a fan of the weightier steering in sport mode, but not so much of the gear holding..paddles would make for a much better experience that the shifter does in it manual position.

Agreed

I've got paddles on my LX 570. I've used the paddles once. Accidentally. Took me a while to figure out how to get out of manual mode. 😂

I mean if you get aggressive I’m into the 15 range around town. With shell 93
That's alot of added complexity for very little gain over the V8's in our 100 and 200 series. Maybe with Chevron being overturned CAFE will get challenged in court and rolled back. What a disaster.

Anyone crawled under their new LC and poked around the engine bay? Found a small surprise on the backside of the cylinder head. There is an allen plug on the back of the cylinder head that is slowly seeping antifreeze. Have cleaned it off once hoping it was something manufacturing related, but it has returned. It’s an extremely slow leak, but still a bummer. Not really looking forward to having warranty work done if it comes to it. I’m currently sitting at 800 mi.
