Once the floor is cleared of all the tar, I can start cutting and welding.

So, as of today, it's all done. Took about 6 hours and looks good, with the exception of, ofcourse, the rust!

This morning I went ahead and stripped the roof gutters. Plenty surface rust there. I also took off the driver's door. Plenty rust on the bottom of that door as well. In fact, I think all my doors need some level of attention. I then pointed a light betwwen the A pillar and fender and looks like I have a patch of surface rust there as well! Pffft, go figure.
I then quickly realized I have gone down the damn rabit hole, again!!!

I am going to be ordering some rust encapsulator, and after treating the rust in the gutter, I will try and get them released. I will be following this thread:
To help with that.

Hahahah, the idea is to fix the darn thing, not part it out! The good thing is I have a spare tuck that I will be cutting patches out of to weld and replace rusty areas on my truck! As far as the turbo goes, it's a home brew. I can help you with some parts list if you are looking ro go that route.

Managed to take all doors off and and worked on losening the bolts on the rear bumper. Hopefully, I will be able to take that off tomorrow and get a move on with the plan to cut the rust out.
I have ordered some rust encapsulator and seam sealer for some proper treatment.

Today, I have managed to take off that hefty Kaymar bumper. That thing weighs in at a ton! I had to cut 4 bolts as I couldn't remove them. I then proceeded to remove the spare tire carrier from under the truck. That cross member carrier hasn't been in use since I got the vehicle. I am debating whether I should put it back or not. I think I will remove the fuel tank as well. I have a spare and if mine is showing signs of rotting, it will get replaced. Now, I have a question. The fuel tank vent doohickey with a bunch of hoses connected to it in the passenger side quarter is not really necessary for my diesel truck, am I mistaken?? I thought those were only needed for gas vehicles. I want tonremove it if it isn't needed. I also removed what appears to be a factory trailer wiring controller thing. The truck had a tow package installed but i pulled all that $hit out because i will not tow with this vehicle.

I also found a bunch of rust in the rear crossmember. I cut it out and will weld new metal in place.

The rear quarters are pretty horrbile. I wonder if someone has a couple of them for sale.
My spare truck has relatively good metal but it is mangled pretty badly.

This is what I am dealing with on the driver's side.

I do have good dog legs and rockers that I can cut and replace. I guess we will see how this is going to go.

Yep, I know I am in for a world of hurt, but I am not going to run from it. Let's see what happens.
