I just removed my Weber and installed an Aisin carb (thanks Jim C!) I also tracked down a stock air filter canister and mounting bracket, only to find out that it will not fit with my power steering pump! So I am looking for other options. Here are some that I have given some thought, please give me opinions on these or other options.

1. fab new bracket which will allow stock canister to fit

2. Shorten the connecting portion of the stock canister to fit behind PS pump

3. Fashion a flexible connection tube to allow the canister to sit somewhere else in the engine compartment

4. Find some aftermarket set up

5. Your answer here___________________

You can see that the power steering pump is attached at the two bolts needed for the air cleaner canister bracket.

Could go to a 2F valvecover + aircleaner. Would need a simple adapter to make it work with your carb.

Is your alternator below the PS pump? If not, Mark A (marksoffroad.net) sells a pump mount gets it out of the way of the F aircleaner.

Yes the alt is right below the ps pump.

Does someone make an adapter or would I need to fab one?

Doh! I am stealing Peterson's idea next time I run into this issue.

Darby, just pivot the air cleaner on the carb until it is clear of the PS pump, then add metal as necessary to weld from the stock filter bracket to the top edge of the PS mount. Paint it all gloss black and it looks better than new.
