OPOR Sliders, if you were ever on the fence about sliders it's time to get off!

Two cans of Rustoleum "2x" paint and primer combined, seemed like plenty to me. I could have used more paint if I'd gone with lots of light coats. I also just seem to cram the can close and let 'er rip. A few runs, but satin black is fairly forgiving on looks.

mine do rub the pinch on the pass side, just haven't had the nuts to remove and properly bend the pinch back so I just took a jumbo pry bar and bent enough. Pretty sure my body mounts are shot and that's the root cause of the clearance. Saved some hockey pucks to replace this summer.

For the guys having issues with the pinch weld, did you guys get in on the first group buy? Or do you guys have a more recent purchase?

I bought mine probably a year ago and when I got them, I painted them up real nice and went to put them on the vehicle. The driver's side was a bear and wouldn't fit even after bending my rear pinch weld. I didn't even try on the passenger side. Metaltech was gracious enough to ship them back and I ordered a new set (paid for the actual Metaltech sliders this time) and they fit without any hiccup. They told me that they caught where the issue is and had since fixed it. They have great customer service but I hope that it is truly fixed.

Mine were part of the sale. Actually a couple days after the sale, on Black Friday 2014. I called for some ICON shocks on sale that day, and they let me get the sale price on the OPOR sliders. Mine fit exactly as I hoped, for length and clearance. I think they look even better than pictures I'd seen. The angles on the dimple plate go well with the angle for the kick out. I didn't think I'd care about the looks. I just bought them to keep the body from getting jammed into the doors. It turns out they look nice.

Plenty sturdy for jacking the truck.

I was in on the first round when I started the thread. I should have just pulled them off and ran a cutoff wheel where they were snug but I had no help so muscling them in was a PITA.

I got mine in June of last year. I spent some more time over the weekend and i think the problem is with the sliders. I have another 80 for comparison a can't see anything obvious with the truck. Damaging the body so I can install an accessory that's sole purpose is to prevent that from happening is disappointing.

I really got to look at the body bushings before I say anything else, they're stout, well made and overall I really like them.

Worst case is I oblong the holes so they drop a bit and shimmy the bottom of the ubolt so they can't move up.

I'd really like to know if they'll work with the caster correction brackets though as I've done the 2.5 degree bushings for now and planned to go plates down the road.

If by correction brackets, you mean the MAF drop brackets...then the answer is no they will not work. I got a pair of Slee arms so that I could pull the MAF brackets off.

I think I'll slot the holes, mount them in position with some thick washers on the U bolts and once in place weld the washers in position. Probably should have a half inch clearance for flexing.

I got a call that mine were shipping today so I'm hoping I don't run into the same contact problems with the pinch rails. Was this more of an issue with earlier production units or is it still happening with current ones?

Good idea, I may go that route myself but if my body bushings are toast I'd rather just replace with something that will give me a bit more room and hockey pucks are cheap!

Body bushings ought not be very expensive. I've never done a body lift on any of my 4x4s, but had done some reading when I considered them. Using actual hockey pucks for a body lift (or remain at stock height to replace bad stock bushings) may or may not be dangerous. I did a search of the web. Lots of BBS links to conversations saying hockey pucks work fine, and other commenters saying hockey pucks are dangerous as body mounts. (Pucks will suddenly fall apart without warning. Body will fall off frame. Children, nuns, and puppies will all die.) I didn't see any links quoting an actual incident of hockey puck mounts failing. I found some links saying people had seen lots of them fail, but didn't have a link to the actual failure....

If a set of body mounts cost less than a couple hundred, I'd likely use the intended part.

If the mounts were bad I would expect to find some loose hatdware which I didnt.

Grainger get has some extra thick washers that I'm going to use

Tank if you don't mind post or pm the link, I thought about using some DOM tube but if you've found some extra thick washers that will work I think that would be easier.

Grainger part number 5RY29. But they are 3/8s so might be a little tight on the bolts. Will know tomorrow after I pick them up.
Thanks! Keep us posted

Hi, I am looking at getting these sliders, but would like to see how much angle they have ?

Can somebody please post a side picture at the same level with the sliders ? That way I can compare with my OEM steps how much higher these sit .

Thanks !
