Worst case is I oblong the holes so they drop a bit and shimmy the bottom of the ubolt so they can't move up.
I think I'll slot the holes, mount them in position with some thick washers on the U bolts and once in place weld the washers in position. Probably should have a half inch clearance for flexing.
If the mounts were bad I would expect to find some loose hatdware which I didnt.
Grainger get has some extra thick washers that I'm going to use
