great down travel but it bottoms out on the anti inversion part of the shackle now.

The extra weight of the cage and tray has made the angle more severe.

Im going to need to rectify this.

not alot to post mate.

Been busy with work.

I have got my new clutch and a rear driveshaft spacer.
Windscreen going in
Got my winch coming this weekend so ill have to make a front bar for that.
I made the rear two body mounts solid steel to stop the body squeeking on the cage.
I have to pad the inside of the cage around my head

Then its time to tie up a few loose ends b4 comp.

Hey looking good mate, is that cage built to ccda specs? I ask because i'm looking at doing an internal cage for a bj73 which will have the ute roof and back window. I wasn't too sure if the B pillar hoop was aloud outside the cab or not. Obviously I'd prefer to have the Billar hoop outside too, bit more room that way.
cheers
Rob

yeah mate its ccda spec and approved

Hey all, ive been working like a mad man this weekend.

Re routed the exhaust, i had to move it from its original position when i put the cage and batterys in.

Picked up some lights, drive shaft spacer and a 4 terrain clutch from Ash and Russ at Perth 4x4. Big thanks to both Ash and Russ for organizing the parts i have needed over the last month and a bit. Big thanks for the recovery kit also!

Received my winch, Big thanks to Chris at Locktup for this! Its actually a very good winch, i pulled it down today to check it out and add more grease and its basically a perfect clone of a warn. All going well next weekend, if this winch performs well they could be purchased from Locktup.

Mounted it as far back into the front of the car as possible

Basically finished the tray, mounted the mudflaps and fitted the pumps into the tray. Ran the wiring for some rear LED lights too.

Finished the winch cradle tonight after work, still dont know what to do for light mounting. The rest of the bar work will go on after the comp.

Im real happy with how it fit for such a huge winch, the only thing that sticks out is the roller fairlead which wont be so bad once i fit rope and run the non roller fairlead.

All i have to do now is wire it up, fit some rear lights and a rear spotlight to illuminate the toolbox and when reversing.

Pad the inside of the cage a bit, and maby change the clutch!

heres a few pics...

just a thought dude .. why not mount the winch control box remote in the engine bay .. and place the conector in a accesble place for ya .. ( I have 2 one at the control box in the engine bay and other inside the cabin )

I will most probably do that after this comp.

The hand piece will be hard wired into the cab.

the rear 2 body mounts have been removed and replaced with solid ones. If it becomes a problem i will hard mount the body entriely

I would solid mount the cab now to save yourself some extra work later. It will fatigue the cab as it will still flex when the frame and cage wont on rough roads and the cab will fall apart around you over time. And since it looks like you will jump it I would also use limit straps on all 4 corners to keep the shocks from being your limiter. Just a little bit of desert racing thrown into the 4x world helps a ton.
