You Ya' Fool!!! I found a booth close to you, so get ready :grinpimp:

awesome work, keep it coming so when the rest of the community has some $$$ we can play too!!!

No updates, I have been working on my sons 40 "Sully" (put in a new clutch, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, brake booster). I have been working the fires since 1 AM Saturday morning (Sylmar, Brea area), I just got home last night, now I am back at the fire house for another 24hrs, day off tomorrow (sleep), then back at the station for another 48hrs. I don't know when I will get some free time to do some wrenching. :frown:

If I had your OT $ I'd burn mine...

Now Dom, everyone knows SMFD is top dog in So. Cal. :grinpimp: and you would not burn either one of those cruisers.

Just remember, it's not what we do, it's what we are willing to do ;)

Hey Lt. Dangle (for those who dont know Tony, he looks remarkably similar except for darker hair & longer forehead, if you dont know who that is Google it... ) you going to be ready to wheel anytime soon? Put on your big boy pants and get this thing finished!

I am meeting with the painter tomorrow. Going to pick out the color and schedule a time to take the tub down to get painted. The frame will be getting blasted at the same time. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling again.

Rodeo,

Thanks, I have been side tracked for the last few weeks (family stuff). With the wet weather I have not wanted to sand blast the tub. My painter is waiting for me to get going again. So, soon there will be progress.

I have been really busy this past 2 weeks with work and instructing at the academy. My wife and kids are telling me the same thing, it has been far too long since we have wheeled. I am trying to get some time on it Saturday and hopefully Tuesday.

Oh, by the way, where is my bender stand????????????

:bounce:

RockCod,
Hey.. I'm in the OC also.. there's a nice looking green FJ40 in my area of Seal Beach, 1 street over from me. I've been looking at FJ's for several years, and more recently have began the long arduous process of trying to get "approval" from the boss to get one. (she says it's too impractical.. like her $$$ purses? :bang::bang::bang:).
I can't believe you're married.. my wife would kill me if I dissassembled a car in the driveway and garage! (envy)

Anyways, wanted to introduce myself to you, since we're practically neighbors. Hopefully, I'll get a rig someday soon.. or, get one to restore. I'm not nearly as handy as you with all this stuff, and I'd love to chat and pick your brain on this stuff.. especially before I decide on an FJ to buy. I was originally thinking a '75 or newer, but now I'm thinking '81 would be better for road/highway use? I'm hoping to use it pretty much as a daily driver, as well as off-road. Also, would love to get back into maintaining, tune-ups, minor repairs and stuff. (Haven't done any of that since I was in high school, 22years ago!) Anyways, just saying hello. -Jay :flipoff2:

p.s. - do you need to actually own to join TLCA?

Hi ARC,

Come down and meet all the great people of So. Cal Cruisers. We meet the first Sunday of every month in Seal Beach. If you have questions, they have answers. Unfortunately, I have not been working on this project, I have been distracted by the 45 bug. I hope to get back on this project again soon.

will do.. thanks for the warm greeting!

Since I live in Seal Beach.. that'd be very convenient! By any chance, is the green FJ40 around the corner at the meetings? I peek at it and drool every chance I get when my wife and I stroll around the neighborhood. Can you PM or email me some more info on the meetings? Thanks..
-Jay
