Thanks Dougal, the heavy wires to the other relay, esp the black had a hole in the outer sleeve & wiring was exposed so it must've been shorting out on the bodywork, in the meantime l've insulated the heavy wires & replaced the smaller wires connector with a direct link & rerouted it away from the inner wing & bolts it was rubbing against. hopefully it'll start better now & it might even turn off at the switch...That's your glow plug relay
Just a heads up Dougal ...the green/black heavy wired relay is according to Mr Landcruiser the glow plug relay.... its probably original & l'll have to carbon date it for a part number...I don't see those colours on my wiring diagram. The only solid green i see is for the front drive relay, but I don't see the black-blue anywhere.
Remind me what year is it?

its also the same pump as l have, his set up looks okay... l can make a bracket for the pump connection & drill a hole in the arm..l already have a push start cable l'll convert it to stop it...lol.View attachment 3854495View attachment 3854486l have a diffrent pump than yours this is Duncans View attachment 3854496
Yours look alot easier to install mine will be a faff but it'll work...Yea i know some injection pumps need the cable looping over to pull from the front.
Mine prefers it from the back. Meh
Absolutely, l'm sitting here thinking to myself...(did your Gran ever have a kitchen washing pulley for drying clothes, you pull up to the ceiling ?)... l've got a couple of those old pulley wheels, l might be able to adapt 1...for the cable to go around...to the bracket...then to the pump (keeping it a period ute at all costs....Keep it simple. Less to go wrong
