Say what? 3.83?? That's higher than my gas here. We've been normally 75 cents to a dollar higher than there every time I fly back to NC.

I think auto's also add more value..... (the whole yuppie parking lot thing)

But if Del isn't interested in it I may be later on in the year, still haven't completely decided on if i'm going auto or manual when I do the diesel swap. Is it a chevy or dodge NV?
It is a Chevy NV4500

You are correct about the Auto Al. I plan on an auto in the Mercedes because it will be for sale. I would certainly prefer a manual but that would cut the interested parties by 75% (guessing)

Fuel economy related question.

Backstory: I used regular 87 in my 2000 LX for around 1200 miles. I seemed to be getting around 1.25-1.75mpg better each fill up during that time. My travel had been consistent (same places, same roads, same speeds) except for a tank worth of winter snow driving that I'm ignoring. I'm comparing it to the 91 (or 93?) that I have historically used. I did get new tires recently, but I'm talking about the 1200 miles prior to the switch; I've been inconsistent with fuel since then.

Question: Is this normal, to gain MPG using a lower grade gasoline? I went to 87 because a couple of my regular gas stations were charging roughly $1.00 more for high test over the 87 and more than a few people have told me they alway use 87 in their 470's. Lately I'm back to seeing a difference of around 35 cents so I'm back to my old high test ways then.

What do y'all think of using 87 instead of premium over the long term? The gas filler lid says PREMIUM and I think the manual does, too, but I know many of you ignore that.

I did this for years in my 2003 LX. I ran premium one year, regular the next, premium the next, etc for 4 years. Made little to no difference. Been on regular since. If the truck isn’t knocking, shouldn’t need premium. They seem to change the regular vs. premium recommendation between the LCs and LXs and even change it between years so that’s why most use regular. Been proven to be fine.

If you’re using the onboard computer to determine your mpg, mines all over the place so I don’t put much weight into whatever reading it says. I have been using Fuelly for 40k miles and my mileage there is pretty consistent. I’ve owned the truck longer and used to do it manually but I’ve logged 40k in this app.

I have always used 87 in the 100s since 2000. The computer adjusts and I have never had any fuel related issues ever. We have owned 7 of them and still have 3. The 3 current ones have 295k, 265k and 248k miles.

Dang two new cars that actually get me excited??

Agreed. Both are very cool. That Toyota will sell out in a blink and the Ineos too. Been trying to get a job at Ineos however having no luck. ;<)

If you find a way to get a job there, let me know how!
Absolutely. I have connected with a bunch of them on Linked In, just lack of real world car knowledge is not helpful. Even though this company is different. I have some more ideas but I also never want to go to an office again so there is that piece as well. ;<0

I need one of those "Airbags out of order" stickers for my 60 😂

Precisely why I prefer refurbished older vehicles

This truck was in nice shape, the interior was very nice. We predicted sale price of $35K went for 34

Holy Moly!!!
