I’ll let Jason fill in the details. Sufficed to say we hit a lot of dead ends as we explored. Once the lay of the land is figured out a larger group ride up there would be great. Nice range of difficulties.

Huh, that seems to be a recurrent theme when you travel with Mr. Free!? Any spooky deserted houses with old baby abandoned babydolls and rocking horses on this one?

Now that was an expedition! Replete with pouring down rain, a shrinking trail, and of course a gated dead end! East coast wheelin baby. And i do believe you were leading ... at least up untill the appalachian austin powers manuevering. :)

Ill have you know no gates impeded our travels on this journey lol

Actually.....we definately legally ended up on the wrong side of a locked one. Temp closure for logging activity that appeared non present

Well, I'm leading another Hurricane Creek Trip in August, so we might need to do another scouting trip for some new areas beforehand...

I FINALLY became a TLCA member.

Jacob heading off to NC State in the new rig, yesterday. New tires, new suspension, new seats . .some new hoses.

He is bringing it back next weekend to clean it up after the snow and hopefully fix a broken bolt I need to get out :(.

"You can't fix stupid"

Project Mayhem is finally getting fixed up! I need to buy me one of these frame machines.

It would be totally ironic (the real kind, not the Alanis Morrisette kind), if you had Allstate for insurance...because their Mayhem advertising campaign is one of the best ad campaigns on tv currently.

you need to photoshop the mayhem guy in on top of the truck or something.

You should have just drove it to the shop like that, I mean, it is North Carolina:grinpimp:

 Close, almost did. I had stripped Mayhem to save some $$ in repairs before I found out about the AAA thing. To drive her up to the shop, I put the outer fenders on with one bolt each, each headlight in with one bolt each and zip-tied the grill on. Pulled it all off when I got there.

someone needs to make two life size blowup vinyl stickers for the rear door windows of Mayhem (or some similar image), so Johnny can put them on the truck..

how much does fixing that frame run, if you don't mind me asking.

friend up here is looking at a rig with a slightly bent one

I brought them the truck stripped, with all the parts needed to reassemble (mix of new and used). I was quoted $750 to straighten the frame, and the core support, then fit and align all the panels in the front end.
