...diesel JDM cruisers never leave you stranded![]()
For those inquiring minds, the video description says 550/800 at the wheels
Stefan said the Tercel wasn't far behind that!

BWAHAAHAA considering brand new the Tercel has 63 horsepower and I'm at 223000 miles I would now guess I'm somewhere around the 55hp mark.
So to add to my battery issues I was having last week....jumped off easily and ran fine. As long as I start it every day. So I thought I would see if the battery was toast and after 3 days of not starting it, it wouldn't start so I jumped it off again and started right up. The battery sticker says 12/12 and it is a Toyota battery with a 60 month warranty. Any idea if Toyota will cover it if I am not the original purchaser?
So these numbers may need someone here to adjust slightly, but couple things - taken from MUD members, online etc:
1. Make sure your battery is topped up with distilled water. Very important. Add distilled water to any cells in which the level of electrolyte isn't touching the bottom of the fill port. Use only distilled water. The minerals in tap water will eventually reduce a battery's capacity.
2. 2 person job unless you have a fancy multimeter: keeping the multi-meter on the posts, start your engine and look for the voltage under load - should be above 9.5v
Video using a fancy Fluke:
I had to do this with my neighbor yesterday - 7.7v reading under load *gulp* His battery terminals were so corroded - - never seen anything like them. I should have taken a picture. Instead of cleaning, filling with water and retesting he "had to go" so . . hopefully he made it home.
His truck was initially starting and then dying. 5.7L Tundra - - poor girl LOL.
I am only 1/3 through the book, and I want a 40 now! 42k miles driven around the worlds worst "roads", and only 1 breakdown for $70? It was 1965 money, still.... amazing story. It's a good one... sad that someone stole the cruiser 30 years after the trip
New drawer system looks great!
