As always I enjoy your pictures and updates on Olive.

First thought on the art car was "airport tug". To each their own as they say.

So @OPMACHINE knocked it out of the park with the bumper. Fitted like factory and the winch fit perfect. Rare to get something that fits so well without any changes.

Got really lucky with an OEM battery cable to run from the winch to the battery from a FJ62, it’s the ideal oem option! After I cleaned and buffed the terminals, it’s ready to go on. All that is left is run a new ground and I can get this fired up. I did find a neat option, the 79 series OEM winch solenoid is a great option to control winch power.

Since I like to spend my free time wisely while in Singapore....I continued down my ocd path...my original manual needed a better home...So I found a mint late 70s Toyota registration case...whoever it was I was in a bidding war with, you lose!

I always come back to this video....

"it sounds like a bucket of bolts sittin next to ya....sometimes it sounds like a bucket of bolts fell over and screws and nuts went everywhere"

I’ve skimmed this thread a few times. Finally sat down and read it.

Beautiful build. Awesome attention to detail.

Long term review on the mud hawgs?

Really need to get my 40 going, some days I wish I had bought a nicer one that already ran and drove.

Thanks! I love the mud hogs, great size and soft enough for a 40. Balanced out well enough for me and run down the interstate nicely at 75.

OCONUS again and finally back after yet another trip. Little things that I’ve been looking forward to… I’ve needed to update the battery and winch wiring so it’s coming along.

Battery cables USA is great and super well priced. I paired with oem battery terminal and cover along with a coolerman fusible link. Also found the plastic cover for the coil, woo!

Also replaced all the steering rods and reset the toe-in to 1/8”. Truck rides beautifully, I knew they needed to be done but wow, major improvement.

I also yanked the secondary fuel tank so I could replace the hardware in the bumperettes….long day just to change some bolts but super pleased that I did.

What are your thoughts on the 4" with 33's? Are you on 35's with stock gears?
It’s what I had before actually, really enjoyed the ride. Mustard truck had Skyjacker and this truck has Downey - sorta want to swap my Downeys out for them, but not enough to spend the money right now. Likely because the Skyjackers were brand new, rode real nice, but I seemed to have about 200lbs of gear in the back for most of my road time.

Enjoyed reading your build thread on your 40! It's coming along nicely. How do you like your little bluetooth speaker? Just bought one and have yet to install it. Also in this pic, is the red wire your power wire and black your ground? Or is black going to a fuse tap? Wasn't sure how to wire it in if you could provide some input it would be appreciated!

Bluetooth unit is great - connects quickly and audio is plenty adequate, but if you're an audiophile you'll want more for sure. I can hear it going down the interstate with windows down and only using one 4x6 behind the dash.

Red is power - I used the factory radio wiring plug power and then used the ground spade on the cigarette lighter as my ground, hence the spade. I used a splitter for the spade on the cigarette lighter - here's a link to what I used. Picked up at O'Reilly or similar.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to some more updates on your projects.

Loomed the wiring, much happier now. Fixed up my tee'd evap hose from the secondary tank, all looks much better now. lastly I cleaned up the hoses for the charcoal canister and cleaned/tested it. Alls good for that.....except for the broken elbox hose which is now on order. Even had time to relax today at the reservoir.

I looked through your thread but didn't see it; what tires and exact size of 35" do you have on your steelies? They look really good.

Thanks! They are Kanati mud hog, 35x10.5r15

Thanks, I think I may try some of those next time I need tires. Running BFG 33x10.5r15 currently on a 3" lift and opened-up rear quarters; there is room for more.

Well no one wanted to buy the polished valve cover and the NOS 79/80 fell through so…..on the polished cover went!

Had to swap over to the early studs, see size for comparison. 75-79/80 is longer. 80-87 is shorter. Lastly I popped on the coolant temp sensor bracket I couldn’t use with the later 2F cover. Now to find a nice oem cable bracket for the choke to really tie the room together.

All in all, stoked I put it on, looks real nice. Though when I come across a 79/80 again, I’ll snag it. City racer evap elbow arrived today also - popped that on with some spare oem clamps, fits perfect like OEM.

Forgot I never posted this a while back, realized tcase leaks into trans so I whipped up a bypass. $20 banjo fittings and a spare piece of hose and it’s done. I’d like to get some oem spring clamps at some point but it’s fine for now.
