Crawford - Far SE corner of the state. :) Awesome plate!

Anyone have a link to the rules on using old plates?

If you already have plates, do you just put a new sticker on when it comes time to get them? I wonder if I could peel my old one off :)

No, you need to go down to the dmv to switch to original issue year plates.

I could not find the form online about using the plates, so I asked when I was down there registering another car, and then I lost the form he gave me. Basics where has to fit the antique status, then you have to use year of manufature plate from correct county.

So 1976 is an antique. Damn, I feel old now.

Back in the saddle again

So finally got to the FJ again. I have an excuse list as long as Santa's list for not getting out there, but that really does not matter..... Finally made it out blew off the dust and put in the new clutch master.

Next to do was to trace down that exhaust leak.

Anybody see where the leak could be?

Anyone, Beuler, Beuler? :crybaby::crybaby: :whoops:

So, I need to figure out how to remove that bolt that holds the two manifolds together. Any ideas? I have tried heat and been soaking in catalizing penatrant.

Also, where to get an intake minifold gasket and gasket or block off plate for where the leak is??? Should I go ahead and double it up?

Also, Erik I looked at your manifold that you donated to me, and it is for different carb and has a nice crack in the exhaust side, so I will toss it to the scrap pile. Thanks though..... :D

Anyway, felt good to make some progress. While I wait for the parts to get here, I will start working on the rollbar and seatbelts.

Techtafab... you still doing exhaust? Old blue can come home to say hello soon!!

I think I gave you the gasket that goes between the manifolds looks like a squarish rectangle with three holes? I am not sure it is the same or not
If your ordering parts lemme know I know chris and I will be combining shipments on stuff. Good to see you back at it. You were probably getting scared that chris and I were going to catch ya huh

Absolutely.... Scared to death.

The gasket you gave appears to be a different size.... however, I have not got that bolt out yet. Still soaking.

If you buy a felpro intake gasket it possibly might come with the appropriate manifold to manifold gasket. Not positive but I think that's where I got that stack I gave you. I always ran headers so those gaskets just sat in the drawer.

Where did you find a gasket set? Napa did not have one locally, called the dealership, but no luck there either....

I would try a remflex gasket. I am running one on both my cruisers

Well, I found a felpro at Advance, had to order it in. I looked at the remflex, and it is a good two week wait ordering from them, do you know of another source?

Thanks,

I ordered mine from them. I used to double the flepro's on my 40 to get a good seal.

hit a snag

Here is the exhaust to intake gasket I need to find. does not come up with a 68.

044-08B at SOR.. If your ordering something holler. I have a gift card burning a hole in my wallet.. Not really. But I might order some stuff by the beginning of the year. We can combine shipping. My goal is to make it thru newyears and a run to Kentucy to rehab a condo.. I hate recessions. I'll be back on track by the third of 2012 tho.
So holler if your going to buy. Tim can't find that part? I can help him look it up next week at the dealer if you want. Looks like it fits 68-74. I need to call molle next week for some smallish stuff anyway.
Have Tim change search parameters to a 1970..

Get the pesky bolt out i take it?
Try Part # 17171-60030

You are awesome. Tim found them in KC, and will have them tomorrow for me.

Thanks man!

Back to your SOR order... are you wanting to order by year end? I forgot if your discount club thing was for this year or last year...

Discount expired. No worries. and No don't need to order till next year. Glad to help.

Cool.

Rob (neighbor) came by the other day and helped me get the rollbar in place. If you may recall, the bar is out of the 75 cruiser and does not fit quite right, so I had to cut the welds off the mounts and will weld them back together after I have it placed.

I am thinking about raptor liner on the rollbar. Any thoughts? Powdercoat seems like it would show many defects in the rollbar unless I do a textured coat....

Anyway.... Merry Christmas to all, I hope you find Toyota goodies under the tree.
