Man it wont be too long. Have you thought about putting tcase braces on? And do you sleep next to your hvac unit? lol

Sleep.... who needs sleep?

Hey, I just wanted to give a huge THANKS! to Erik, Sage, and Colin for all the help. It actually looks like a real rig!!!

Thanks. I could not have done it without you.

that hood looks FINE.. just use it as a sled in the upcoming snow to save the sandblasting time!

On those headlight bezels that you thought the powdercoat gummed up the threads.... Well, I recall powdercoating those, and I used the silicone tapered plugs in all of those holes, so I was surprised that they were gummed up. So... I went through all my taps, to clean out the threads. Took me a while to find the right tap. Ended up being .9 pitch m5 holes. You just try to find that pitch screw today.... GOOD LUCK. I bought some 1.0 pitch stainless, and plan to retap -- if issues, I will just put a nut behind it.

Gotta love old cars...

Thought I would update with some pictures. Wiring has been the word for the week. Almost done with everything, but waiting on some grommets now. The lights were one of the most difficult finds. The standard light on the stock 68' was this size - about 4" OD, in 69' it was increased to the us standard 5" tailight. I searched all over and found this light that was made for a trailer. It was within 1/8 of the stock size. As the original "ears" that were rusted through, I made the ring out of 1/8 steel. Looks great, and not likely to rust through again.

The wire loom is easy cut loom that I found on MSC. Looks great and hides all those bright colored wires from the EZ loom.

I decided to add another power outlet for cell phones and other stuff inside the glove box. I will add another under the seat on the tool box, and I ran power to the back corners of the rig for the same purpose.

Things I have to figure out.

1. Where does the fuel filter mount to?

2. Where can I get a new or replacement cig lighter for the dash?

3. When will it be warm enough for me to run a garden hose for cleaning out the fuel tank?

fuel filter mounts to the frame I think in a little box looking thing on the pass side with a nut on the top holding the assembly to the box. I'll have to go take a look at the FJ45 on that.

those tail lights are still avail as well but you method works as well.

If you are correct, I would like to know the part numbers. I had Molle searching high and low, then I found a link on mud where someone is making the trim rings, and everyone is searching for the lights. Every so often they come up on ebay at 85 bucks each, however they have an awesome backing cover that I would love to have.... anyway, if you find the number let me know.
EDIT--

This is almost funny, so here is the link for the thread on making the bracket....

https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/119768-early-tail-light-bracket-help-9.html

Funny part is that I asked for someone to give me the part number for the early lens, and I must of forgot to look for the answer, because there it was.... Toyota no longer stocks, but Mark has some.... If he has the cig lighter, I might be giving him a call.

Looking at Toyota, can't find a part number for cig. lighter for a 69', but for a 75' found 85500-20042

Anyone know the difference?

Awesome..... Thanks!

Chris you rock!! I went by NAPA and the exact frickin' piece was there on the shelf. $5 dollar and 49 cents later it was in my pocket. I will post this up on MUD for all to know. Ordered up two more to sit on the shelf for the next time.

Got Brakes? Or is Tax season in full swing and your stopped for a bit?

Tax season is picking up, but I am able to get out there a little bit. This Sunday, I have got permission to play out there from the wifey for a while. With the warm weather, my goal is to get the fuel tank cleaning and sealing done. If I can get that in, the interior can go together.

Brake lines are also on the list, and I will put in the master (thank you) in.

Should have some pics tonight as my kids want to help install some stuff.

Thanks again for everything. Did any of the pocket door stuff look good to you? Notice those pricetags... look familiar?

I'll let you know on the hardware when I get to that step. Thank you. Hoping to do some mud and tape tonight.
Tranmission and clutch on Sage's truck on sat evening after the other job. Probably more mud and tape on Sunday.
Colin I know you'll read this but your more than welcome to swing by sat after 5:30pm to supervise.

I posted a question on the main board, but have not seen an answer..... I can't find the braket or a pic of the bracket that holds the 4wd vaccuum cable actuator under the dash. Obviously, half is part of the firewall, the other half look like??????

Rob or I can take a picture this weekend . Mine is a cable that runs thru the dash. is yours different?
