100% better than what I could have done!
I would recommend you working with George on your next project.
He was nice enough to take my son back to see the oven and shop, and it is a real nice setup. Note: my son thought you could make a huge batch of cookies in the oven big enough to drive a truck into!!!

electrical...
I also had some time this weekend to get the electrical harness in the FJ. The alarm wiring was real straightforward once I figured out where I was going to mount everything.
After I got the alarm figured out, I pulled the harness out, wrapped everything and then reinstalled it.
The first thing I installed to the painted tub was the ignition switch. It all starts there, I guess.
Anyway, progress...

Wow, powder coating looks awesome!
Still on for the 30th? Time? I'm bringing at least one other possibly 2. Might need one to just run the camera!

I am so looking forward to this! YES we are on. My goal is to get as much ready as possible to make some major progress!
Of course, food is on me, and we can start as early as you all want. I may not be able to sleep, as I am so excited. If there are any beverage prefences, let me know.

beverage preferences..? Um. I need coffee till noonish then I can switch. I will have my travel mug and or will bring my thermos. I have no problems bringing my own coffee.. After that? Sage's preference is bush light, I prefer miller myself, not sure what Colin's preference is.
I believe I will have Colin Crowley and Sage Arnote with me. Colin wants to learn and help and there is no other way to gleam that then just doing and helping.. And Sage? Well.. Sage I kinda just expect him to help me/you and his mom is not working and can watch Hunter.. I'll try to roll the boys out 8 ish from the Independence area. Might be 2 cars depending on what departure times are needed due to family limitations on the others.
I need you to "assess" what extra is needed, let me know if i need to grab my extra assembly bolts/what's left in the garage. We'll need 3 ratchets setup with 10,12,14 and 2 ratches setup with 17mm. A bottle or 2 of antiseize, prefer 2, one per side of the vehicle. A bunch of nice soft rags or I can bring with to help with alignment and a package of wood shims to possibly help with alignment.
Do you have any sheet rubber lying around to make the hood hinge gaskets? if not I'll see what I have or go to tractor supply or hanna rubber before hand.
Wiring? done or need assembly on that? wiring is tedious and might require another day of quiet.
Hose clamps and hoses? you have an assortment otherwise I will bring with.
I"m going to assume we're assembling and not getting to the "starting" phase just yet? Have you done fluids? I have a 90 wt bucket with a pump on top I can bring with as well.
Lastly either some posterboard/chalkboard/whiteboard type of thing and a sharpie. I'd prefer if you can make your list of what you think/want to accomplish have it written down, we'll take that, prioritize it and then we can check them off one by one.
I'll get you a brake adapter plate later so that will have to wait just a bit. I don't have time to go pull it out of the 45 right now as i've got Jenn's highlander in pieces in the garage right now replacing knock sensors and associated wiring. THAT JOB SUCKS! 2 intake manifold parts, all fuel injection etc is pulled. Last parts will be in Toyota today to finish that job or at least hope to finish.
Clutch in? If not i have tranny jack and alignment tool. Pinion seals etc torqued? If not I have SST to hold tension now I can bring with. Before I always used a big pipe wrench but the sst is way cooler.
I'd probably list out sections of this post as it was kinda long.
Do you have the technical ability to get a camera with a time delay setup in a corner? That would be kinda cool! Overkill but cool..

we're just helping kelly out before he goes into hiding for tax season. Otherwise it'll just sit there and drive him nuts.

I should have all the sockets and wrenches we could ever need. Antiseize - all I have is one jar of it, no spray type antiseize- I have all sorts of spray with teflon though. Rags- do you still have a supplier of rags?? I should have enough, but running low. Wood shims..... are you really asking if I have wood shims. Have you not seen my wood shop?
Yes on rubber, and it is on my list to do before you show up. I have EDPM 80mil.
Wiring is done under the dash, but after that it will need to be done. That is something I can do later if we can't get to. I have all the supplies for that.
Fluids all done before I tore down. I replaced gaskets, so leaks may exist. I just remembered that there is no oil in the tranny/ case now. I have oil, but do not have a pump -- bring it, please.
Gas tank has not been done yet, but I have a temp boat tank we can use -- we may be able to start it this weekend, but it is not on my realistic list.
Clutch is in, tranny and engine are in. Pinion seals were torqued after I connected the engine and put a wratchet on the crank bolt.
On the camera, nope, not that technical savvy. I can put one in a corner and we can take a pic every so often.

I wanted to point out that miller and busch light are for panzies! HOWEVER, as these (panzies) are working on my rig, I will keep in mind that if I served my 8% or 10% beer, they would likely pass out and slip into a coma, as such, I will purchase said beer and hold back my heckling.
Just keep in mind that said "pansies" have to be able to DRIVE home. So, your home brew would not be the best choice, unless you want the work to be done by complete drunks. 
Trust me I did think about the home brew option and that is why I recommended the stuff that comes in the ready cardboard box at the local store.
bottle of antiseize is fine. it's just a great idea to put it on just about every bolt on the truck for safety sake.

Wish I was going to be there. Hoping to have the same party for the 78 later this year. Good call on the Gatorade - I'm pretty sure I had heat exhaustion after one of our full day wrenching sessions.

I'm in the same boat as Erik, I'll have coffee in hand to start my day. Water and gatorade, and maybe some beers here and there, but won't hit those heavy.

starting
So, got up early to get things warmed up and cleaned up...... (yesterday got busy)
Proud dad moment.... My son competed in the cub scouts pinewood derby car yesterday, and made the finals for his group. Made 8th place in the end, but for a backwards car, we were pretty darn happy..... more to come on that. Let's just say "CONFIRMED"
Now, back to the setup......
